Apparantly there's Nandos back in the US! I don't think there's a lot of locations or anything but somebody I know was talking about going to Nandos on their next trip to some convention and I was shocked as I didn't know there were ANY nandos!

There's a bunch in Maryland. My wife's cousin got married there and we're walking along the pier where we were all staying and I stop and freeze and go 'no way' as I point at a Nandos. Nobody understood and, quite frankly, nobody cared.

Also, maybe I should perfect the art of making egg rolls, then open a drive-thru stand.  Like Seattle coffee stands, but serving only pork or veggie eggrolls.  :)

Yes please!  ;D

I've recently discovered that my dream, should I ever win the lottery, is to open up food trucks with the food (and beer) that I like in an attempt to get things to take off here...hahaha I will make food trucks happen here (if I win big bucks).

Yet they torment me daily with photos on FB.

When they open, it'll finally be worth it! Be prepared for crowds though!

LOL for a second, I thought that you meant your cousin's wife got married at Nandos!

My, how time flies....

Ummm, how does one play the lottery here? In the States you give a buck to the guy behind the counter at the liquor store and he gives you a ticket for the drawing....

Just started my new role this week and so far nobody enters it, but we used to enter it as a team in my previous role/company everytime it was big or a roll-over....I never we were never going to win but I was hoping we'd at least hit something substantial. Even £100 each would make me a happy camper! haha

No idea because my husband hates it as thinks it's throwing away money (so far, it has been haha). Somebody in my team always bought the ticket so I can't honestly say...Sounds like it's similar though from what they've said.

You can buy a ticket anywhere you see the lotto sign. Usually it's by the cigarettes wherever you go. Supermarkets, corner shops, petrol stations etc. Or you can sign up and play online.

I went to that Mexican tappas restaurant on St. Vincent St. yesterday  (I think that's the street) and it was pretty good.

As near as I can tell, the first step is to get in front of me in the cashier queue, then spend 20 minutes finding out all the ways you didn’t win yesterday while I tut loudly behind you.  Then you need to buy several different combinations of scratch cards so that you can not win in other ways tomorrow.

Repeat each time you see me heading towards the store.

haha was going to say I just asked my colleague and it sounds very similar to what you'd do in the US in terms of going to a counter to get your ticket and you can choose yourself or have them choose for you.... I've just bought in 2 shares..... I blame you guys because you put lotto on my mind so I couldn't say no when they brought it up! (I will half-blame you all and half-blame the idea of wanting to bond with my new colleagues  ::) ). Looks like it's a pretttttyyy big rollover tonight...I'm always happy to win ANY money (£50...£100...whatever it is!) but I DEFINITELY wouldn't turn down £16M (£8M per each of my shares lol).

I would really, REALLY enjoy a single, bendy, fold-able, greasy slice of a proper NY style pepperoni pizza. The Daughter says that does not exist in Glasgow.  :-\\\\

I miss this a lot too!  We eat pizza here but it just isn't the same.  My husband says 'there is no difference' but there IS, even in American pizza outside NY.

The UK lottery or Euromillions (I'm not sure which one) does a thing where after so many rollovers, if the jackpot hasn't been won "naturally", it's a forced win thing.  That is, if nobody picks all the numbers, they go to the most winning picks.  Then the jackpot is shared across all of those people with that many correct numbers.

My husband plays when it's a forced-win week because there's better odds of winning something, even if it won't be nearly as much money.  We don't need much money, but some would be nice.  :)

You can buy tickets online, so no need to get tutted by people behind you in the shop queue.  You could even set it up to automatically buy your tickets via direct debit (either lucky dip, or your pre-selected numbers) on a schedule and they'll email you if you win!  We only play for the forced-win jackpots or the Millionaire Maker events every few months.  But it's crazy how easy they try to make it.
