Hi, I've been refused a spouse visa previously on Jan 27th 2018, failure to meet the financial requirement. My wife receives a rental income and I didn't submit the proper paperwork so I understand the reasons for refusal. I've reapplied again and now received the "not straightforward" email. Any insight to what and how long for the process to finish will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all and good luck to everyone.

Don't people normally get the "not straightforward" email when UKVI is about to exceed the 60 BD's? Not sure why you would get it this early.

Maybe they are looking more closely because of the prior refusal?

Not necessarily - if it's a priority application, they seem to send that email much earlier. I think Southernboy/SouthernBetty got their non-straightforward email after only about 16 or 17 BD.
