Yes. She said it’s easier to apply again (and cheaper) than to appeal. I’m still hanging around here though.
The only reason I’m not applying straight away is that it’s easier for me to get a job this time of year. Plus, I plan to have well over the £62500

I’m so sorry Ca9604. Were their reasons for not accepting one of your financial statements valid?

ETA, I ask because if you don’t plan to reapply until next year, maybe lodging an appeal now would be an immediate way forward...?

So infuriating
That’s why I wonder if you have grounds for an appeal and if the appeal process would take you right up till you plan to apply again anyway? Not sure if I’m making sense...

Is there a minor child involved?

Is the rental in the US or UK?  Who lives there?

Yes, we have a three year old daughter. She owns a house the she rents out through a agency and collects rent every month. She also has a part time job. The house is in the UK.

Do you both currently live in the USA?  Is the child your and your spouses biological child?

We are finding having a minor child applying as a dependent seems to be kicking applications into the "not straight forward" pile.

She is our biological child. My last application we met the requirement for accommodation and relationship. So I didn't think that would be an issue, but don't know for sure. My wife lives in the UK, and our daughter was born there too. Any idea how long the process takes after the not straightforward email?

All bets on processing time standards are off after the not straight forward email.  By issuing that, they are off the hook for the 60 business day target.

If you want to tell us about your circumstances and what you submitted, we may be able to decider what is causing the issue, and you can be ready to react if they request additional information.

Sounds like you’ve had a previous refusal.  Have you ever overstayed a visit or previous visa for the UK?

I never over stayed.
Last time I didn't submit the employer letter. Each month She deposits her  part time job salary in cash cause that's how she receives it even though she gets a pay stub. And when she deposits the cash her statement shows a bank sort code instead of "CASH" when she deposits her rental income, the bank statement shows the bank sort code instead of "CHQ". Last time the ECO couldn't conclude that the payments were from her job and rental income. This time I submitted a letter from her employer, the letting agency and the bank confirming that each deposits from her job were in cash and the checks from her rental income were deposited in check form. The bank confirmed the date and amount that were deposited and the form it was deposited in, in the letter.

Are you combining both the rental income and the part time income?

Is she self employed or paid under PAYE?
