It's completely luck when you're a unicorn and processed quickly, but congrats!! I'm so glad you had your answer quickly and it's an approval. Happy homecoming :)

Yes, @margo  I shouldn't have stated that with such authority! I know there are plenty of people who have done EVERYTHING right.  I just meant that I am so grateful to everyone and I did my best to follow all of the amazing advice on this forum and I attribute my approval to all the wisdom in this forum. I know I couldn't have done it with out you all.

I feel very lucky to be the May Unicorn. ;D

I am crying while I type this and you all are the first to know (other than my 10 year old who watched me open my return package): I am APPROVED! I haven't even told me husband yet!

I was convinced I had lost $4k and tons of time.

Thank you to @larabee, @KFdancer and @masonjohnsmum for keeping the faith when I had none.  1 week processing time!! That is only because I went total type A on my application and followed all of your advice to the T.  I am so incredibly grateful.  Thank you thank you thank you!
Congratulations Sierradenver! Thanks for sharing before your husband Glad you got such a quick turnaround too!!!

Congrats Sierradenver!! When are you flying out? Did you book your flight already?

We booked a one-way flight from Oakland to Gatwick on Norwegian Air $760 all-in for myself & son. $760 included an extra baggage fee $140 for 2 additioanl luggage since the ticket only allowed 1 check-in luggage each. So in total we had 4 check-ins.

It's been 60 days since my biometrics apt and 64 days since my online application ugh what's taking so long.. I thought American applications are the easiest(besides canada) to process.

Wow I definitely feel for you  :(  is this priority? And have you had a non-straightforward email at all?

How can people get theirs back within a couple weeks and others take this long?! I thought the priority (once received) goes to the back of the priority line...ugh I hate this waiting game and I am not even at a month yet..

That is long for priority but not unheard of. When did you get the application received email, that is when you should be counting your days from if you applied from the US? Did you mark the outside of your package with priority as instructed and have the priority  receipt on the top of your documents?

I looked at your past posts and it's at 54 business days from the date you received your email that they had your application.

Hold tight, you are nearly there!!

Even though you are non-priority, it is unlikely to go (much) past 60 business days for a February application.  Summer applications will likely stretch much MUCH longer.

Did you apply priority?

This whole process is so random which doesn’t help at all. Really sorry you haven’t heard anything. I’m only on BD 21 (Sheffield hadn’t opened my package for 9 BDs!) and I can’t take it. Feeling really depressed lately :-(

I didn't apply priority. I am too poor and I received the email on the 26th of Feb. Yea waiting sucks so bad I missed my booked flight and I lost my job offer. I'm so frustrated, never did I think it would take so long. Had no idea I would be most likely be their in June. Ughhhh

So sorry to hear that. It's a horrible wait. The best you can do right now is just try to enjoy your remaining time in the US and take one day at a time.  :)
