Hi there,

I'm new here.

Just sharing my situation. I'm a Brazilian citizen and lived in the UK from 2007-2014 on different visas (student, work, then got married with a Brit and got a FLR). Then my husband got transferred to LA end of 2014 and we've been living here since then. We decided to go back to London a 2 months ago, and because my FLR was expired end of Dec 2016, I applied again for a settlement visa. I thought my application was really straightforward since I had a spouse visa before and my husband has been working at the same company here and has a job offer in London starting in Jan. I paid priority and today has been 4 weeks since Sheffield has my documents. The thing is... I'm pregnant and can't fly after the 15th December. I stated 1st December as the date I wished to fly.

Do you think that if I call them close to the date and explain my situation they would speed up? Or no?

Here's my timeline:
Online Application complete: 7 Oct
Documents sent to Sheffield: 16 Oct
Email Docs arrived in Sheffield: 18 Oct
No more news.

Did you apply from the US or from London?

*edit - I noticed you mentioned flying so I'm assuming you're in the US!

I would have your husband contact his MP as soon as possible. Priority applications have continued taking about 30 working days based on the posts here. MP may be able to plead compassionate circumstances on your behalf :)

I suspect you will be fine.  Several decisions this week from people who applied the week prior to you.

Are you sure you want to deliver in the UK v US?  It will be tough not having continuity of care.

Good news a lot of decisions are being made this week.

I'm going to wait until next Monday and if nothing happens I'll ask my husband to email his MP.

The plan was to deliver in the US, but because my husband got a good job offer in the UK and has to move back on the 1st Dec, I can't really be here on my own. I need time to find a hospital when I get back to London and a doctor who continues my pre-natal care. Another reason to get extra visa anxious.

If you know which area of London you'll be in, you can start looking up the hospitals in the area now! I have spent far too much time learning about the NHS and private doctors I'll need thanks to having multiple rare conditions, and London is the epicenter for good care :) I wish you luck and I'll be thinking of you. Try not to worry too much, 30 BD has been pretty consistent since August. My brain wasn't capable of math earlier or I would've included something similar to KFD's response!

I'm in another group, and I think they getting done with the backlog, people were either getting their decision made emails or their approvals and refusals the day before and yesterday! Good luck to you all waiting.

I'm due to extend my visa next week, hopefully it's not too long for people on the second phase of their Spouse visas like me!
