She received her visa back with approval today, submitted priority.

Bio- 17th of December
Decision made email- 8th of January
Passport delivered-10th of January

Now to the really odd part...not only was this maybe 13 or so working days but she had requested an entry date of 20th of February. Her Visa entry date is no where near that date...she’s approved for entry 14th of January until 13th of February. I haven’t seen this very often if ever. Does that happen typically? It’s okay, but it really isn’t ideal as it pushes forward their move date quiet a bit!

Congratulations!

Yes, this does happen. They have been better recently at being close at least to the date nominated but it's not unusual at all.
If the entry date is really important to you, it's best to make separate mention of it in your letter, to emphasise the point.

If it's really a stretch to get everything done in time, she could enter the UK and pick up her BRP then return to the US briefly to finish up what she needs to do.

thanks Larrabee!  I'm hoping the desks at the UKVI offices are as quiet as this thread has been recently!

Ugh. After what seems like endless attempts (and a week off thinking about it to recover), I finally got everything sorted and sent out. Had issue with my initial biometrics appointment, had to delay for a week but I think we're all good now.

DEC 22: Online application (settlement premium application package)
JAN 6: Biometrics at VFS Houston
JAN 8: Docs received in NY
JAN 9: Text "The VFS Processing Hub in NY has received your application package. UKVI will not consider you UK visa applications"

I never got an email from UKVI confirming online reception of my application and so out of panic I emailed them 11 Jan to confirm my application was received and got response email confirming it was under consideration. Now just to wait. Hoping the process is quick and I can get over there before the end of February.

Hope everyone else out there waiting is hanging in there!
DEC 22: Online Application (Priority)
JAN 6: Biometrics
JAN 8: Docs received in NY
JAN 9: Text "The VFS Processing Hub in NY has received your application package. UKVI will not consider you UK visa applications"
JAN 16: Email from Sheffield saying application was being prepared for consideration
JAN 24: Decision made email
JAN 27: Approval letter received!

Good Luck! I'm hoping it's quiet as well.. we're on about the same timeline.  I had my biometrics appointment yesterday and my application/passport are supposed to arrive in NY this morning.

It is awful but you've done what you can by using priority. There was a very quick result in recently, hopefully that continues as is the norm at this time of year. Hang in there!  :)

Good luck everyone!

I know i've seen this written before and that the advice has been that the ECO email isn't always forthcoming, but... last time we applied we had a confirmation email from Sheffield the very next day after biometrics.  This time we haven't had that email and it has been a few days.  We have, however, had a text to confirm that our application has been "shipped out to Decision Making Centre".

I do hope they don't mean 'shipped' literally.  We paid priority service (again) which should scan it to Sheffield immediately, no?

Nothing is shipped to Sheffield anymore.

Your documents are sent/scanned to New York and then New York forwards them all on to Sheffield electronically.

So I assume that text just means New York have done their job and have forwarded all your scans to Sheffield ready for processing.
