My local pub made the news:

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/pub-goers-stranded-beer-garden-170000320.html

I was drinking at those tables just last week!  That kind of tide is rather common and comes in quick.  I've seen plenty of people with cars that are ruined by the water.

Do they have warnings up so that people at least have some notice it can happen? That's kinda crazy! I don't think I'd be happy wading in the Thames River, its always seemed quite dirty to me. (correct me if I'm wrong)

My LMH - one of the expats who lives nearby is hiring a junior role, and asked me to apply for the job. Can't say if it will lead to me getting the job or not, but it really made me feel a lot better after a rough few weeks. And tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary, 2nd with me as a resident. :)

There are signs, but since it only really floods severely like that once or twice a month it’s easy to forget.  Some signs have flashing lights on days the tide will be super high.

About the water quality, it can vary. Sometimes we hear that water quality is way up and old species like water voles are coming back.  Then we’ll hear that they’ve released thousands of gallons of raw sewage into the river, cause they still do that in an emergency.
I avoid river water in general and certainly would be taking a hot shower if I was in it like those people.

I don’t think I’d go anywhere near the water of the Thames don’t think any pint is worth it! But the area looks lovely

The Marshmello helmet is now on eBay:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123899853597

We took off the vast majority of the lights so that it would work reliably and tidied everything up.  There’s stiff competition in the market, with lots of mass produced helmets made by Chinese children prisoners selling new for £10.  I’m not sure if ours will actually even sell but we need to get it out of the house now that we are done playing.

It’s got a Bluetooth controller, so one person can wear it at the end of the garden and another person can control the lights with an app on their mobile phone. This is more enjoyable than you think!

We put in an offer on a house today and it was accepted! Holy shnikeys! Stuart and I will be homeowners!

Will be moving from city centre of Stirling to a more rural Tillicoultry.
