I don't know that it would make any difference at all - and I suspect the issue is due to sheer volume of people trying to book the slots - but try clearing your cookies.

I agree that Chrome is usually quite good.  So I doubt it's that.  I suspect it's all UKVI's problem.

Hoping you snag a slot ASAP so that you can enjoy your holiday!!

Also, if you have an ad-blocker, try disabling that.  It probably won't make a difference,  but it can't hurt.

It just happened AGAIN! It is after midnight and some spots came up for start of October - not even sure which centre as I have been doing this so endlessly for so long...and AGAIN it just hung and then crashed and I never saw openings again. I don't understand this. I don't see how I can stop the site from hanging and crashing on the VERY rare times I've even had a glimpse of a date...really getting discouraged. I'm supposed to be on my annual leave, but I just endlessly sit in front of my laptop screen going through the centres over and over again...only for it to prove impossible anyway!

There are some suggestions on this thread that may help?

Congratulations on getting a spot - I've been looking all last night and all morning and day today - no luck for me at any of the centres...I keep thinking I'm somehow not on the right site, but I can't imagine I am...I live in Herefordshire/work in Worcestershire!

-What time in the morning were you able to find a spot??

I found a spot around half 8 ish closer to 9, yesterday morning. I checked and there were a few on 1st October in Glasgow. Called my husband "OMG. APPOINTMENTS, GLASGOW. YES?? NO??" He immediately said yes.  Clicked on one, Said it wasn't available anymore. Freaked out. Went back to the list and went into Glasgow again. Only ONE at 8:30am (so had to pay an additional £75). Did not have trouble booking/paying. Went straight through.

They've added London Victoria as a new site. Is everyone else getting the same thing?

...well...once again it is 12:10am and I have been repeatedly checking for dates - some came up - not even clear for which month - managed to get as far as the times before it crashed and then the dates were gone. Vanished. So...I am giving up on this route - for whatever reason, it isn't working and I cannot stay up this late and get up several times during the night and wake up at 5:45 anymore.

...Thanks everyone for your support and input - and best of luck to all who are still trying to get a Premium date!

Thank you - yup, I'm indeed using the correct useless site...

...as for the browser - I'm currently using Chrome - and it has generally worked fine - both times I have had a glimpse of dates, it has hung and then the site has crashed - it appears to me to be the site itself, but if anyone has any additional suggestions...?

Have you tried any other browsers? Might be worth trying. We always tell patrons at the library to try the website in a different browser if it's not working just in case there is an issue with compatibility. And turning adblockers off as someone suggested is a good idea.

I like the idea of a system where you can upload your documents when you submit but I balk at directing people to libraries to do it for you. Not that it would be an issue for people to come and use our computers, but I fear that they will assume that library staff will know what is needed for a visa application. We get asked how to fill out forms all the time and we are not legally allowed to give advice on forms, nor can I fill it out for you. I can help you interpret what goes in which box but that is about it. And something as important as a visa application needs someone who has some knowledge of the requirements. Plus, we are so understaffed that, unfortunately, we just don't have the time to sit with someone for an hour scanning and uploading documents.  My library is 11/72 in Essex for visitor count. On a good day, we might have 3 people to serve 400-600 customers. Realistically it's usually only 2 staff members. Smaller libraries may only have 1staff member. Our equipment isn't great, either. Our scanner is awful - it can only scan one page at a time to a jpeg file. Imagine doing six months worth of bank statements on that! You usually only have an hour's access per day and nothing saves so you have to bring a memory stick if you want to come back. As much as I would love to help people in this situation, I can probably only show you how to use the scanner and leave you to get on. I don't want to be the cause of someone being denied their visa because I couldn't provide more assistance! Apologies for the spiel...
