What I do miss when going out to breakfast more than anything else is HOME FRIES! I know I can make them myself, I just can never be bothered hahah I don't eat big greasy fry-ups at home unless we have guests or it's some type of special occasion so I never take the time to make them, I end up just having hash browns lol. Does the job but it's not the same.

YESSSSSS!!!!

I think we all need to post our "regular" breakfast order.  My go to is:

Scrambled eggs with cheese
Homefries
White Toast - I always use at least two different jams.  I love Apple Cinnamon the best, but I like ALL the jam.
And if I'm really hungry, I'll add bacon or sausage patties

My regular breakfast in the US would be..
2 eggs, sunny side up
Bacon
Breakfast sausage (patties or links)
Home fries, hash browns, or sweet potato hash

I didn't go out for breakfast much there either. But I miss the bacon. And the breakfast sausage without added fillers.

On the weekend I either make French toast or a big English breakfast for us now. My husband is never hungry in the morning during the week so I just have eggs and coconut yogurt w/ fruit. I've adapted, but I miss almost everything about home right now. I haven't been back since February and thanks to the job uncertainty can't afford the flights back right now, so I think I've hit the low point in homesickness.

I don't really have a go to breakfast in the US, as it depends on my mood and where in the US I am.

Sometimes it's blueberry or cranberry pancakes with keilbasa if I can. Sometimes it's stuffed french toast (drool)
If in the south (or at a Cracker Barrell, oh I love CB), it's got to involve eggs, biscuits and grits and at CB, fried apples have to be involved
If I can get it, Huevos Rancheros is always a winner.

A Denver omelet will always go down a treat.

Moons over my Hammy if it's a Denny's.

I'm hungry!

In the US, it would kind of depend on where we went to be honest be it would usually be something like this :

Some type of pancake (s)
Scrambled Eggs
Home fries / hashbrown
Toast
bacon (depending on if the meal came with bacon...wouldn't order it separately)

Obviously never finished all of this food but I would attempt LOL

If the attached image shows what we mean by home fries (in my southern family (Arkansas), we call them "fried potatoes"), I have them at least once or twice a week.  Either as part of "Mexican Potato Salad" (see other attached image; it's a base of lettuce, crushed tortilla chips, refried beans, spicy shredded chicken, guacamole, diced tomatoes, and crumbled cheddar cheese, surrounded by seasoned fried potatoes), or with fried eggs and toast (they'd be lightly seasoned with salt and pepper, a bit of garlic powder, asafoetida (or onion powder if you're allowed to), rosemary, and thyme).

Hashbrowns are more work... *puzzled*  How do you make your hashbrowns that it's easier than home fries?  I love hashbrowns with fake cheese (I really really miss Waffle House's chicken sandwich plate with hashbrown scattered and covered).

Same for me.

I'm not a great lover of a fry-up, though.  I would almost always prefer something sweet for breakfast.  First choice would always be Cinnabon!
2nd choice probably doughnuts, 3rd choice pancakes & maple syrup.

If I'm not in a sweet mood, I would go for a breakfast burrito over a fry-up/ any sort of bacon & egg combo.

Oh mannn I was excluding the "sweet" option! but I would definitely rather have a quality doughnut or cinnamon rolls over standard breakfast affair hands down. I'm not a massive breakfast person in general.

Ugh, I can NOT do sweet in the morning!  My guilty-pleasures in the US were a steak, egg, & cheese bagel sandwich from McDonald's (or an Egg McMuffin if they didn't have the steak bagel option), or a ham, egg & cheese croissan'wich from Burger King.  But, likewise, I am not a massive breakfast person in general.  I'm ready to eat around mid-morning... 11-ish.  So I'd just push that to lunch time, and start my food intake then.  I might have a packet of crisps (chips in the US), or something to prevent stomach growling if lunchtime seemed too far away some days.

Hahaha!  Okay, so, I deliberately portion the plates so they look similar, but my husband's (the front one in that last pic) has a lot more food on it.  And I often don't finish my plate.  (I "fail", as he calls it, and then he finishes what I don't eat.)  My husband eats like two men!

Same with me and that's why my husband, and I quote him on this, "loves me sometimes" (yes. he said sometimes.)

What meat are you looking for with fat on it?

My pork loin steaks almost always have the fat on one side. The beef tends to be pretty trimmed though

The beef for roasting and also steaks could use a bit more for me. I like to cook with it on because it just adds much more flavor.

Sainsburys is for the riff raff who can't afford Waitrose.

Don't know if you guys noticed but Marks and Sparks is different than other stores in that they almost exclusively only sell their own brands.  You'll only see one brand of, for example, frozen peas and it won't be Birds eye.  Just M&S.

I think I like that about M&S. It's kind of like Trader Joe's in the states that way... except I'd say M&S is better in quality. I also like that many things are prepped and ready for cooking. They give you lots of great meal ideas.
