Hey, don't you cut off my "s" too, it's harrowing enough when the UKY software does it.

Hmmmmm, might have to do it, though I wish they shipped to the UK!  Can I bring knives back if I pack them in my suitcase?  I know we can't ship them (Thanks Marsbar! Food thread)

I would always double/triple check directly with the company who would be shipping the item(s)... if they're clearly kitchen knives, and they were packaged appropriately, I can't believe you couldn't ship them period.  I think they're concerned with other types of knives...
Especially if you claim you've moved here and they are part of your kitchen stuff - and then there are of course ways of having them shipped indirectly - not straight from the store... y'know.
I brought my grapefruit knife back in my suitcase and just wrapped it up carefully.
I did open my suitcase to find an official notice stating that my suitcase was 'randomly chosen' for inspection; but whatever, everything was there, and hey, pity the guy who had to shove it all back in again as it was stuffed to the gills!

Mart and I both love kitchen stuff.

Also on the to be purchased list is a mercury filled handle icecream scoop. Our friends have one and were kind to demonstrate when we went to dinner at their place. It heats the scoop end with the body heat of your hand gripping the handle. They had me hold the handle and put an ice cube in the scoop. We watched it melt right before our eyes - it was all very quick. We've been looking all over for one but cant find any.

I have one of those, they do work a treat.  It is called a "Zerol" ice cream scoop.   Maybe do a search by the manufacturer's name?
