 Hello!

I am happy to be back as I prepare for my ILR! This forum has been invaluable to me during my past 2 visa applications. I reviewed many posts on ILR applications and have come up with my calculated date to apply and ILR document list.  I am hoping the experts can review it and let me know if I am missing anything.

Most importantly please let me know if I have my proposed date to apply calculated correctly. Also if the financial, and cohabitation document dates are correct.

I am applying using my spouses employment information.

Thank you so very much in advance!!

You don’t need a printed application form - it is all transmitted electronically now.

I don’t believe there are any consent to checks forms for ILR - you’ll have to see what comes up when you apply online.

If you can list exactly what you have for each of those months, including the source, date printed on the document, and whose name(s) is/are on each one, we can check if they meet all the requirements.

Other than that, your list looks good to me.

Those all look good, and they meet all the requirements:
- they are all evenly-spaced (every 5 months)
- you have 6 (well, 7) in each name
- you have 5 different sources (bank statements, credit card bill, mortgage statement, energy bill, letter from government)

Hi,

The questions below are in the ILM application and I could use some clarity on them please. Thank you!

1.
I am not sure how to answer the social group question. What does it mean by social groups?

2.

Does the definition of family mean immediate family, extended family such as aunts, uncles and cousins?

It means social/community groups you are a member of back home, that could help support you if you had to return to the US to live.
Like:
- church community
- cultural groups
- sports or recreational clubs/groups
etc.

They will only look at your answer to this if your visa falls for refusal and they have to decide if you can be granted leave to remain under Article 8.

It means every single living family member you have back home.

So you start with listing all your immediate family (parents, siblings, children), and then extended family (grandparents, grandchildren, aunts/uncles, cousins, nieces/nephews etc)… you should list as many of them as you can.

Same goes when it asks about friends - list as many as you can think of.

Again, they will only look at your answer to this if your visa falls for refusal and they have to decide if you can be granted leave to remain under Article 8.

Hi, thank you for the clarification. If I answer NO they want to know why. Is it sufficient to say the sport or rec clubs/groups I had been a part of was through physically being present and participating?

The only thing I am a member of is my college alumni group. The only active connection is newsletters, and occasional events one can attend. So I wasn’t sure if this group applies.

Yeah, you would just state something along the lines of that you are no longer part of any social groups in the US due to living in the U.K. now.

Hi,

I just realized our joint bank statement for Feb 2022 won’t arrive until after my intended date to apply of Feb 18.

Can the mail evidence start with Jan 2022 instead instead of Feb 2022 and go back the needed months ? Evenly spaced 5 months.

Thank you for your advice on this!

Yes, that’s fine… you can adjust the months you use as necessary, depending on the mail you have available.

Alternatively, you can keep all the other months the same and just use something from January 2022 for the last one instead of February.
