Because I have been a grouch we went out for comfort food, which in my case is Indonesian... Hello rijstaffel!

Nasi Goreng, Rendang, Emping, Satay, Beef with Kecap Manis, garlic Squid, crispy chicken, king prawns - YUM!

The Rendang was so amazing I could have cried, i took one bite and swooned :)

(p.s can you tell when I'm sick I miss my mum?)

I don't think I've tried Indonesian before, but aside from all the meat-y sound to it, that sounds super yummy!

Hope you feel better soon, though.

It's really veggie friendly actually as it's like the 4th highest population of veggies :)

They do a lot with tempeh and tahu/tofu which are both soy based as well as doing a lot of veggie curries/soups/fritters/salads.

One of my favourite things is gado-gado which is a really fresh salad with beancurds in a peanut sauce, it's totally lush.

Menu is here, if you fancy it we should totally go sometime - http://www.balibalirestaurant.com/menu.htm

I've been looking for "like my mother makes" indonesian in London for ages, this is the only properly authentic one so far :)

Yeah, I didn't mean Indonesian in general sounded meat-y, just the dishes you named. :)

Heh heh, I know love :) We had the set menu which had a dish of each meat, so was quite meaty (we did have other things!) The Boy pretty much doesn't consider something to be food unless it was once walking around a farm yard :)

Had a nice meal at the posh architectural awards dinner-
Lentil soup, vension, mash, red currant gravy, veggies parcels wrapped in bacon, more veggies not in bacon, rolls, and cranachan for pudding
And wine. Lots of it.  ;D
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Last night we went straight to Tescos after work, and I was starving so we each got a happy meal from McDonalds.  :-[ I must admit, it was delicious. ;D Later on I had a salad.

Tonight I think we're having steak fajitas with a Homepride potato bake.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!
