Jewlz, don't go into your overdraft. When my DH was made redundant I sent his creditors  letters offering a token payment of £1 and sent them a postal order and each company accepted it until we could offer more. Send a copy to them recorded delivery as well. It said this...

Dear Sir/Madam,

Re Reference No:

Since making that above agreement with you, my circumstances have changed.

I cannot now afford to the agreed monthly payments because as of (insert date), I have made redundant from my workplace of (how many years worked there) and I no longer have the money to make payments of (enter amount) each month as I currently hold no job for support of such a substaintial amount.

In view of my circumstances, I am able to offer £1 a month at the present and should you cash this postal order enclosed I expect it to be considered you are accepting and agreeing to terms I have provided and this can be reviewed in six months. If interest or other charges are being added to the account, I would be grateful if you would freeze these so my debt does not increase.

Should my circumstances improve we will contact you again.

Thank you for your assistance. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

Jewlz

It worked for us when we struggled in the beginning. Good luck!.  :-*

Oh God. FIL just came in the house, without knocking of course, shouting at the top of his lungs because he's practically deaf, then when I shush him because DH is taking a nap, he starts shouting "He can't be wanting a nap, he's not bloody working!!" and all of that. I just lost it on him, started crying and saying "Look, we are under a lot of stress right now and sometimes people need a nap" and then I basically told him to get out because I was in a bad mood and wanted to be left alone.  :-\\\\ :-X :-[ I'm such a wreck today I can hardly stand it.

Sorry your having a bad time recently Jewlz.  :(

Dh & I went an saw his Nanna today at her nursing home this afternoon she was in the common room where she normally is in her room after 1:30pm. an before she said anything even before said hi she said to Dh boy you have put on weight how is rude is that  :o  I don't care that she is 87 there is no need to be that rude an she said it loud enough for everyone to hear what she said as well.  >:(  Dh has actually lost weight he has really cut out alot of the bad foods he used to eat alot of his only bad vice food wise is he still eats "normal bad chips" for lunch. Neither of us eats anything after 8:30pm either. I felt so bad for him cause I know he is trying to eat healthier than he was before.  :(

We ordered a car part yesterday an went an picked it up today it was the wrong freaking part that was ordered. >:( so we had to call the place back an tell them they ordered us the wrong part so we finally got the right part ordered an its going to cost an extra £10 from the other part costs.  ::)

Now that we are home we locked the door an we aren't going out till Friday mid morning when the car part is supposed to be in.

Sorry you are having a bad day, too, Shugga.

To top things off, I realized that I counted up the weekends wrong and we actually don't have DSS when my parents are here.  :-[ We are trying to get baby mama to switch, but she hates me for no real reason, so it doesn't seem likely.  She just kept throwing out crappy excuses for why he shouldn't be meeting my family. I hate her so much, and I've never hated anyone, so that makes me hate her more for making me hate someone when I strive to be a nice person. [smiley=beadyeyes.gif] [smiley=shout.gif]

I'm sorry things are so rough for you right now, Jewlz.  But, I don't believe that when someone causes you to hate them it automatically makes you a bad person.  You're nice (at least from everything I've seen from you on this forum) and she sounds like a right ____.  At least you do have your family visit to look forward to...that's a plus, right?

To be honest, today it feels like a great big burden. The one thing I had to be positive about today - I have an interview next week - when I tell my mom the good news and try to cheer myself up, she starts in with a guilt trip about how I will have to work while she is here, but its ok and blah blah blah, when I already explained a thousand times that I won't work while they are here, I will just say I have a holiday booked in the interview. So that irritated me further. They keep moaning about what a bad time it is to come and visit because we won't be able to do anything and it's making me feel even worse, even after I said we borrowed money off my in laws so we could take them around to do a few things.  ::) :-X

Hugs to you, Jewlz.    [smiley=hug.gif]  Hopefully, things will get better.  Like you said, at least you have an interview.  That's great!  I know parents can be difficult...especially if they haven't been close to your shoes, but try to keep your chin up.  We're rooting for you.   ;)

late pregnancy insomnia and indigestion.

I so hear you! A friend swears by fennel tea (says it worked for his wife's pregnancy indigestion) - boil some water and add about 1 tsp fennel seeds  boil for about 5 to 10 mins and add a tea bag. drink as normal tea. I haven't tried it because tea is vile. hopefully it'll give you some relief.

Weby, that's really kind of you, thank you, I'll send you a pm to discuss. I'm having a little boy, so unfortunately the clothes are probably not going to work :)

Jewlz, I'm sorry it's so hard right now, hang in there.

Aww thanks my dear  :-*

I was just feeling frustrated because my bike seat kept sliding down this morning when I was riding to work - and I know its because I'm too heavy, not through the fault of the equipment.

Oh well at least I was on my bike in an attempt to do something about it  :)

It's not you! I thought that when I got my bike, but I googled it and it happens to lots of people regardless of weight, there's lots of little reasons for it and lots of cures you can try, talc on your seat post, hairspray, a new seat clamp etc

http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/index.php/t-117649.html

I ended up getting a new bolt, as when I looked at it properly the bolt I had was stripped and no more seat slipping problem.

I'm having a total meltdown and feel like I might vomit due to nervousness. I thought I was going to lose it in the Council Office because they said the Job Centre was supposed to fill in Housing Benefit, and they didn't, and then they said Fast Track is actually going to take 3 weeks or something like that, plus we have a two bedroom since DSS stops with us every other weekend, but we will only be getting benefit based on a one-bedroom. I guess since he doesn't live with us full-time he is supposed to sleep on the floor when he's here?! I made this comment out loud in the Council Office and now DH is all pissed at me saying I was rude to someone who was trying to be helpful to us. I can't help it, I've stayed so positive up to now but now I feel like I'm just gonna lose it altogether. We are arguing over whether or not to pay some stupid bank loan our of our overdraft and I just feel like everything is so freakin' bleak at the minute. [smiley=bigcry.gif]

Have you told your bank about the redundancy? Your DH wont qualify for a payment holiday as he's been made redundant but he may qualify for a reduced payment plan. Where they lower the repayments for six month and increase the length of the loan. PM me if you want, I used to do all that stuff when I worked at the bank. If you let me know who you bank with I may have some advice.
Also, does he have payment insurance on his credit cards and loan? He may have and not even realise it. Worth getting his paperwork out anyway.

Sorry you're going through this lovely, let me know if you need anything x
