Had a horrible fight with my mother today. It's going to be a long week. I really had high hopes and we were off to a good start, but I just set myself up for disappointment as usual.  :-X >:( :\\\'( I'm ready to have my house (and my bed) back. We've kind of put it behind us now, though she missed a lot of time with my stepson this weekend and the dinner reservations we had tonight at my new workplace, which she was most looking forward to of all we had planned (I called to cancel after the blowout). Hopefully we can salvage the rest of the week somehow. Only five more days to go.  :-\\\\

Ohh Jewlz ;-( So Sorry its not going as planned but when one plan goes out the window make a new one! Do a lunch at the "tree" ;-)
Can't wait to hear about it soon...Huggss!

Mine: I am almost over this flu (I think) but its all in my chesty cough now and I don't want to go to the doctor AND DH goes off to the rig tomorrow...Weird after having him for a month

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm trying to make the best of it before they leave, then I won't be seeing them for a while and things really can blow over.  :-\\\\ Hope you feel better soon and the time passes quickly until K gets back.  :-*

Oh, Jewlz. I hope it gets better!  :-\\\\

And get better, everyone. This is the year of being sick for too many people.  :-\\\\

My IA is minor. I can't do up the necklace I want to wear.  :(

:D I need one of those, especially when I'm out running in the early morning. I'm usually not 100% awake/coherent and plenty of drivers have gotten a nice "lecture" from me about driving and pedestrians that may or may not have included a word that begins with F! lol

I can't blame you for that! :D

Yesterday I was in the middle of the road when this car came barreling around the corner and had the audacity to honk his horn at me while he slowed down (barely, he almost hit me!)  I was there first FFS!!!  It's not like I sprang out in front of him or anything!

I stopped in my tracks and shouted "I dare you to f-ing hit me!".  I then continued to walk slowly the rest of the way across the road staring him dead in the eye the entire time. :P  I wanted to say so much more but I somehow thought better of it despite my PMS-fueled rage.  ;)

This is one thing I still totally don't get about living here in the UK. You're at an intersection, there are no cars, you start crossing. A car comes along, and suddenly they still have right of way even though you were in the (then empty) intersection first?! Cars can go way faster than I can on foot, I do not feel bad about making them slow down/stop to wait for me in an intersection.

I've actually had a green crosswalk signal telling me I could cross and cars who are stopped will get annoyed and just come through the intersection when I'm still in the middle of crossing!  It happens so often outside of where I work that I had to ask my husband for clarification on the crosswalk signals because I thought maybe I was reading them wrong!  But nope, the cars are just impatient...

Me too. I agree with all of you.   >:(  I (a walker) am crossing a street.  You (a driver) suddenly come along and want to turn.  You get to honk at me because I'm in your way?!

I'll never get it.  It will never stop annoying me.  Ever.

I had the same experience with my Mom when she was over in August.  Hang in there sweetie!  :-*

Finally got through to a "person" at Social Security phone line -- after about 15 minutes of telling some robot my name, SSN, my mother's name, etc. etc. Robot repeats every answer and asks you to verify every one of your responses, even when you swear at it  [smiley=furious3.gif] So then the "person" starts in asking for my name! I just did all that! So anyway turns out my SS benefit will only amount to about $1000 a month  :( -- even if I work til I'm 70 won't be enough to live on. And my work pension total is less than a year's salary  :P  Hard times ahead.

I know this is petty...but...boy's brother in Law, who is also weirdly his step brother (boy's sister is married to this guy's brother, and boy's dad is married to his mother...yes I realise that's weird, but boy's sister was married 10 years before her dad married her husband's mum and made her and her husband step-brother/sister :S !) has announced his wedding date for 2 weeks before ours, in the US :(
They only got engaged last week :/ Now they're not coming to ours and everyone is going on about the expense of coming to ours in the UK with his so close.

Totally not petty!  That's so inconsiderate of them!

ETA: My IA is that I've been re-working this stupid CV alllll day.  And the perfectionist in me feels like the amount of content on the pages isn't balanced so now I'm mucking about with it to make the 2nd page not look like it's crammed full of stuff.  Ugggggh.

.

Yay, I think so to but didn't want everyone to think I was a total Bridezilla :( I'm not a Bridezilla at all, but it seems so inconsiderate, they've been dating 7 months, what's the rush?!

And they're all up on their Facebook about it, sending each other messages, changing their status and planning on each other's walls and they got engagement flowers from Boy's dad/stepmom we've received nothing :( I hate that they treat him so "out of sight, out of mind" my parents and I don't even get on that well but they always remember him with a graduation card, birthday card etc.  grr!

Also they're my friends on Fbook so I can't even tell the whole world how they suck...boo! :)

*phew, feel much better now rant over!*

Jeez, M. That is super lame! And definitely not petty at all. I would be upset, too.  :(

My IA: Moving is hard... Just packing up all our stuff is proving to be an impossible task while still having work to think about. I want a magic wand.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!
