My dishwasher has stopped working. This is a fate worse than death in my house and all the more annoying because it's only 14 months old!  >:(

You have my sympathies CC cause our dishwasher broke down a while back but thankfully it was still under warranty.

Thanks, Shugga! Hopefully this will be covered by the company even though the year warranty ran out in September. The dishwasher died back in August, the repairman came out and it's the same issue again. The Husband has even troubleshooted the fault coming from the previously repaired part. I'm assuming repairs are covered for a good length of time as well.

Thats would be nice of it was covered an you dont have to pay to repair it again for the same thing that went wrong in August.  ;)  :)

What is it with dish washers? How long should they last anyway? Ours is dying so have given up on it.

J's like that. He's like "What an expense for just one day"  ::)
I can see his point, but I love giving gifts and decorating and being with family and as good as excuse as anything to be merry!

I love holiday season! I love the feeling of togetherness and honestly the past 2 years I have up and booked a ticket to my moms in NJ from TX on Xmas eve because I wanted to be with family...ATX I always was busy with holidays season stuff and decorating my house and here I don't get to do that so its upsetting.  I got a lil bummed last night when DH,DSD and I decided Saturday we would decorate the tree and watch a Christmas Story and have hot chocolate - YAY then got a text last night she has a bday party so wont be here and so I feel I mine as well do it myself ;-)
I guess I just need to make it my OWN holiday but I like to share...

And...the flat I liked said no. :( One of the women has kitties and she was concerned about how they'd react to my dog.

Back to....oh yes....0 flats that have responded positively to my need for a place to live with my animals. Sigh.

Something will come up soon, I'm sure :)  Can you afford to live on your own? Or would that be a bit grim? What about renting a new flat with your current flat mate?

I could afford to live on my own, and I've considered that. I suppose I should research 1-bedroom flats. I just find it cheaper (and more sociable) to live with other people.

My flatmate works pretty close to here, so I don't think he'd be too interested in moving, and when he's casually mentioned it he talked about how it would be cheaper for him to live on his own anyway (based on the locations he was looking).

bummer :/

What about trying to do a buddy up on Spareroom.co.uk or placing an ad there for room wanted? The other thing you could do is rent an affordable two bed and try and find a sublet flat mate?

I've got a room wanted listing up (which doesn't prevent people with "no pets allowed" rooms from spamming me :(). I'm totally open to buddying up, the trick is finding the right place to do it.

There's a "speed flatmating" event tomorrow that I plan to go to, in the hopes that I'll either meet someone cool with a room, or meet someone cool who also wants a room and we could find a flat together.

We have to "request" days off on this stupid software and the supervisor has to "approve" it.  I wanted to use a Personal day on Friday the 19th so put in the request on the 8th. We have to submit the week's time by tomorrow because of Thanksgiving. No response to request so asked my supervisor if he knew what was going on. He says "Oh, I was waiting on that in case you might change your mind"  ::) [smiley=bomb.gif]
I said I'm taking it off -- whatever.

And what do we get for assuming things, kiddies? We just spoke to the company and all repairs are only covered for 90 days. And the repair on our machine was made 95 days ago so we're SOL unless we want to pay £125 to have the repair made.  [smiley=shout.gif]
