The Husband and I have very different ideas of spending the day together getting some Christmas shopping done and perhaps lunch out since we're sans Thing 1 and Thing 2 for the day. His expectation was that we'd do it all at the big Tesco Extra and is annoyed that I'm annoyed by this idea.  ::) No thanks. I'll go out on my own another day ...

I don't mind shopping on my own, although I like to use my husband as a donkey to carry all of my parcels. ;)

That sucks big time well when you go out shopping on your own hope you have a good time an find some good deals as well!!  ;D  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Thanks, Shugga! Trust me, I prefer to go out on my own! I just had very different visions of our day on our own than he did! I knew I should have been suspicious when the Husband asked me if I wanted to go out and get some Christmas shopping down knowing full well that he detests crowds and shopping! lol

I agree! On both counts! lol I'll forego the donkey service and hit the shops on my own this coming week. We all win that way!

I love the way my hairdresser in the US does my hair (I've been going to her for 10 years), but good god she's an annoying American. She informed me that America is the best country in the world because you have freedoms. Um, we have freedom in Ireland too.  ::)

Weird, maybe it's a small town vs big city thing? Because I've also kept my surname and had zero issues here in London - no one even bats an eye, but I had tos of problems when I was in (small town) PA a few months ago. No one could sort out what my name was, literally every conceivable combination that wasn't, err, the same name I've had for the last 31 years...

(btw, what box do you tick these days? I'm never sure - Ms.? Miss? Mrs.?)

Personally, I consider myself a Ms., even though I'm unmarried.  I'm not sure that I'd address anything to a female over the age of 16 as "Miss" unless I knew specifically that she preferred it.  My default it Ms. for almost all adult females, unless I know that they are married and prefer Mrs., unmarried and prefer Miss or are old enough to possibly get offended by Ms.  To me, Miss is similar to "Master" for boys, it's for little girls.  I don't plan on changing my name when I get married, so I'll just stay the same.

IA: I'm supposed to be revising for my first training course exams which are in a couple of weeks, but I can't seem to concentrate on my notes at all... I've only done a total of about 15 minutes of studying all day :(.

Went to the French Connection sample sale today. Took a train into London, walked half a mile and then waited 30 minutes in a queue in the cold just to get in only to find that the selection was rubbish. It was amazing the past two times. So much time an effort for barely anything.

Also, the pub across the street is having Elvis night. Whoever is being Elvis is horrible and not even singing Elvis songs. What a lovely thing to keep me up at night.
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' Kurt Vonnegut

I've found that in the UK, if you tick Ms on one of their boxes, you usually end up as Miss. Here it isn't used like in the US, which is either for very old spinsters or little girls, but to indicate you're not a Mrs (even if you are, but prefer Ms, you're a Miss!).
