I think muffins are a staple food in the US!

anyone know where i can get paul newman's olive oil and vinegar salad dressing?

Why on earth you do you Americans insist on all your food having a brand name attached to it?
You're in Europe for chrissakes, and if you're in London, you're in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, go to Borough Food Market and get yourselves some real food, (including quality Italian extra virgin Olive Oil) ;)

Its also not about the brand name but it helps relate a sense of taste.  The salad dressings here taste nothing like they do in the states so sure we crave something we grew up on.  The same way my DSKids crave yorkshire puddings ;-)

Yes, because the British never have branded items; they only ever have generics.   ::)

Holy crap! Abel & Cole are selling spaghetti squash now! This makes me both excited and annoyed, because I actually grew my own damned spaghetti squash this summer because I couldn't buy it anywhere...  :( Next thing you know they'll be selling tomatillos, too.

Anyway, my loss, your gain...

The salad dressings here don't just taste different. They are just plain nasty. Ummm, salad cream? Ugh.

To the OP about the Paul Newman's dressing...we have gotten it at Tesco Extra and also you can order online from Ocado.

I was able to find big tubs of Kool-Aid mix in Tesco's (in with the Jamaican stuff, at the HUGE one by the RICOH Arena in Coventry).

Thanks so much.

When we moved here, DH's cousin worked at the Embassy. She took us up to Lakenheath to go to the grocery store and Taco Bell (!) on the base. I have never seen my husband like that. He was grabbing armfuls of cereal, candy, sauces, etc. We actually just used our last jar of pickles from there, almost a year later. What I wouldn't give to go up there one more time right now...

Just as an aside regarding Abel and Cole and ordering from them-

I ordered my Spaghetti Squash to be delivered Thursday but ended up having to leave for the States early Thursday morning.  I left them a message late Wednesday night saying that I'd appreciate them not delivering as I wouldn't be in to receive a package, but that I understood that they would need to charge me.  I got a lovely email from them Thursday morning saying that my order had been cancelled and that they wouldn't dream of charging me- along with well wishes for my mother.  Great customer service, I will definitely order from them again.

I really want some Tootsie Pops.  Found some on amazon, 10 for £5.20 and only £2.95 shipping.  It's not cheap but it might be worth it to satisfy this craving.   :P
