It's "full" because it includes meat, eggs, veg, etc. Everything all on one plate!

Perhaps someone can explain to me where the term "Full English (Irish, Welsh, Scottish) Breakfast" comes from. I've never seen a "half" breakfast offered?

I've always taken it to mean that it's breakfast 'with the works', so to speak - a 'full English' contains everything: bacon, eggs, beans, sausage, fried bread, tomato, mushrooms... and whatever else you like to have with it. On the other hand, if you just ordered the bacon and eggs with nothing else, then I wouldn't consider that to be a 'Full English'.

Just got my delivery of JIF peanut butter from Amazon.co.uk. Free shipping made it very reasonable for a 3-pack.

I have to say I was very pleased that a local shop has decided to stock some American sweets and products. They are getting more in tomorrow and I'm going to get some stuff that I've missed.

Anyone in my area (Cheltenham), it's Proud Lion in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. It's a comic book shop, but they apparently recently started selling things like vanilla coke, cream soda, root beer, tootsie rolls, butterfingers, peanut butter m&ms, pop tarts, fruit loops, twizzlers, hot tamales, peanut butter twix, and some other things. (can you tell I spent quite some time looking it all over while trying to decide what to buy?  ;D)

I'm literally going to be skipping in there to buy some Lucky Charms cereal and Hot Tamales candy tomorrow. I had tootsie rolls and butterfingers last week as my daughter spotted it and bought some for me for Mother's Day. Yum!

Hello!!!
Long time no post!
(littleladylovelylox here) Its been so long that I have changed emails since my old one was hacked.

anyhow.
Here are my finds in my ever lasting quest for american food here in the UK.
Specifically, Cardiff

Tesco: Kraft Mac N Cheese. Blue box, the real deal. Not the fake stuff they tried to pass off to us a few years ago in the suspicious red box.

Grape Soda! In the ethnic aisle

Cornmeal. Previously near to impossible to find as the meal.

Kool Aid in the big screw top containers

Ok substitue for Dill Pickles. Its a Polish brand called Cucumbers in Dill or somesuch.  Top tip: check the ingredients list. If sugar appears, put it down and walk away....

Asda:
In their ethnic aisle they had....CHEETOS. real true blue cheetos
Lays (Ruffles) Ridges Crisps.  They also had the chive and sour cream dips.
Finz Crackers. These are repackaged Pepperidge Farms Goldfish
Oreo: Double stuff, white chocolate covered and milk chocolate covered.
Reeses: Resealable bags of mini pb cups, and large 3 pack cups.
Hersheys Chocolate: Kisses, Almond Kisses, Cookies and Creme Kisses, bars of milk chocolate.
Fluff: Regular and Strawberry
Ritz Crackers
Golden Grahams Cereal

Ritz Crackers

We've had Ritz crackers for years - remember my mum used to buy them in the 70's!

OMG! I have just seen Fluff - in Sainsbury's! £1.99 a jar, the original only, but that's the same price I've paid when I've seen it at TK Maxx.  Didn't buy any as I have three jars in at the moment.

I was pretty surprised today that there was a new market stall of American products in our pokey little town.  They had mostly sugary candy, but also other things. What I can remember specifically: Lucky Charms (also a version in a dark box - do they make chocolate Lucky Charms?), Jelly Belly sodas?,  Raspberry Fluff, A&W rootbeer and cream soda, several flavors of M&Ms, Cracker Jack, Twizzlers, Big Cup Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Hershey's bars, Fun Dip and Jolly Ranchers.

I talked to the guy for a while so I felt a bit obligated to buy a few things, despite the prices. I got a root beer, Fun Dip, Cracker Jack and Reese's Big Cup.  I *love* root beer and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups; the Fun Dip and Cracker Jack were more a nostalgia purchase. :)

The guy has a Facebook page but I'll be damned if I can remember it now. I'll try to get it next Saturday if anyone is interested.

Which pokey little West Yorkshire town is that? If you don't mind me asking?
