Weird food habits
« on: November 03, 2006, 06:06:37 PM »
Ok, I was talking with my sister and we realized we have some weird food habits:

I always put fries on my burger and chips on my sandwiches. She always has to eat her vegetables before her meat and her burger has to be made a certain way - mayo on bottom, patty, cheese, mustard, lettuce and then ketchup - in that order.

Anyone else have any?

I have a game when eating Smarties -- this is complicated, but I'll explain (it could evolve into a game show):

You have 15 Smarties in a little cellophane roll.  Sort them by color, but then, before you can eat them, stack them in threes, with each little group of 3 a 'sandwich' (with matching colours on the outside, and a different colour inside).  This takes a sustained effort, but it can ALWAYS be done.  Never failed yet.  If it fails, you just don't want it bad enough.

Have other food 'things' but none as fun as the Smarties game.

Okay, I'll tell one more . . .  When I go to the movies, I always get a medium popcorn, (no yellow goo for those still in the US), and then a bag of M&Ms.  Open the bag of M&Ms and pour them over the popcorn.  Excellent.  Love chocolatey and salty together.

I leave for work at 7:10 each morning, and get home at 6:00 each evening.  Wish I could stay home all day and do nothing but sit around on UKY!  What a life!  And I have no Internet access in my classroom, so I can't just stop teaching and surf UKY.  Can you believe it??  Horrid, my job!

If I'm in the cinema, I'm allowed to open my Maltesers before the previews start (don't want to annoy people with that crinkling noise), but I don't ever let myself eat anything until the film's opening credits are over.

If I'm in a restaurant, I never let myself even open the menu until I've had my first sip of my cocktail. Then I can sit back and peruse properly.

When eating hot tomales, m&ms, or any other suitably small candy, I must eat them two at a time.  I eat all the other m&ms first, and then the blue ones.  I can eat no more than half the popcorn before the movie begins, so I have plenty to eat during it.  I also eat my veggies first because they get cold faster than the meat.  I eat each food group on my plate individual, I will not eat meat and veggies together.

I clearly have very odd eating habits.

Me too! Plus, I eat everything one at a time (like– peas, then potatoes, then meat), and don't have my drink till I'm finished. If I am eating something "layered" like a brownie sundae, the last bite has to have a little bit of everything, and be just perfect. Whatever I eat, I save the best bite for last.

I hate, hate, hate mustard and I'll tolerate ketchup (never on french fries!). I've been known to wipe mustard off a cheeseburger with a napkin, and I'll rip all the bun away that has mustard on it before I'll eat it. If it's too bad, I'll throw away the top bun and just fold the rest in half to eat it.

I used to not like my food to touch, but I've seemed to grow out of that one. Also my hatred of tomatoes. I will eat them occasionally now.

I also save the best bite for the last one. I want to have a good taste in my mouth!

I am the exact same way with mayonnaise.  It disgusts me.

You guys ARE weird! :)

I go "around the clock" when I eat, eating a bit of everything, so that throughout the meal, one thing won't run out before others. That, and no ice in my drinks, unless it's booze. None in juice, soda, etc.

I have a friend who does the one-thing-at-a-time eating. All the french fries first, then the burgers. It drives me crazy!

The only thing I can really think of is occasionally enjoy a glass of orange juice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it.

If I get a dish with long strings of onions I will pick every one out before I can eat it.  Gross!

I usually eat pizza toppings first then eat the crust separate. If I eat a sandwhich, I have to squish the bread down to flatten it first. Most foods, I sort of  dissect them before I eat them. No idea why, I just do!  ;D

I do the same thing!!!  Recently I've been trying to eat it all as one, but it's not as enjoyable.

Peas are evil and must be eliminated!  I will carefully dissect an entire meal to remove the Vile Spheres (down to the tiniest speck) to their place of shame on my plate.  The only time I will let them tarnish my food is if I'm having dinner at someone's house... but even then I'll try to surreptitiously remove as many as possible.

I think my mom used to put peas in meals just to watch me try to find them.

I love potato chips, or tortilla chips on my sandwiches.....also, I love to mix peanut butter and maple syrup in a small bowl, then use it to make a sandwich. I don't put the chips on those, though!! That would be too too weird!
