My morning started out by baking four kinds of cookies: chocolate chip, white chip macadamia nut, peanut butter and gingerbread. There are currently two hams in the oven, and I am trying to decide if I am going to bake pumpkin pies or not. With the cookies from this morning, all the other treats already here, including two cheesecakes, and the long list of sweets and baked things my sister is bringing with her, I may skip the pies. Might be better to save them for when they don't have to much competition, and less people around to have to share them with. Sure hope Santa didn't read that last bit.  ;D

I drew R's German BIL in the family Secret Santa this year. He is one of those people who has everything he wants (except a partner who bakes lol), so my gift to him are traditional German cookies: vanilla half moons, cinnamon stars, jam thumbprint cookies and bearpaws. I also made two batches of truffles: dark chocolate rolled in various toppings for Felix and a batch of dark chocolate salted chili ones for R.

It's been a long time since I've baked this much and it was my first go in my new (tiny) kitchen. I love love love this oven! It bakes beautifully!  :D

Mmmm, that sounds good PB! Sort of kicking myself for not making gingerbread this year, but oh well...

A couple of days ago I made a chocolate amaretti roulade for Christmas and also baked some spritz cookies - mostly because I love using my cookie press. And now I'm about to bake a potato!  :P

There is a pumpkin, halved and de-gutted, baking a bit to make it easier to peel and puree for pumpkin soup.

I made bread and rolled it out like you would for cinnamon rolls... But instead of cinnamon, I used left over cranberry jelly and spread it to the edges. Then I sprinkled on leftover turkey and stuffing and then rolled it up, and cut into slices just as you would with cinnamon rolls. Baked it and served with gravy.  It was delicious. I saw the recipe on the Great British Bake-off Masterclass show.  It will be a permanent part of Christmas for us!

I do believe I drooled over the keyboard. Wow! I will be trying that soon.

I made a Meyer lemon pie yesterday!! It's the first time I've eeeeeeeever seen them for sale in the uk (big tesco at Surrey quays!) so I just had to try them. Absolutely delicious pie, too. Lemony but without the sharpness at the back of your throat- so mellow!

Gingerbread for a NYD triffle (eggnog custard and pears poached in raspberry juice for the other layers).  I'm not a fan of gingerbread cookies, but gingerbread is amazing.

Chocolate chocolate chip muffins are in the oven right now.  They're for tomorrow as the harp ladies are coming for an informal practice after weeks of us not getting together.
