Aldi is great, but we don't have one near us.  Our Lidl is a five-minute walk away, so I'm there pretty much all the time.

That would a good reason to enjoy it.  ;)  ;D  Aldis is on our way home Lidl is on the opposite side of town from where we live so if we want to go there we have to make a special trip to go there if it were closer maybe we might like it. also the traffic at Lidls is horrible mainly cause it is across from Tesco's.

you go to the one at Maryhill?
I go to that one sometimes too, on a Sunday, cos it's just round the corner from my church.  :)
But i usually go to the Govan one just by the entrance to the Clyde Tunnel.

I agree... you've got to try Lidl's tomatoes... they are fab!!

Yes!  We live just across the train tracks and up hill a bit.  We keep joking about building a "Lidl bridge", as it would eliminate so many steps from our journey.  So you go to that church on Maryhill Road?  Small world. :)

I'll definitely try the tomatoes! :D

OH.  I forgot about that other Lidl - by the Jaguar dealership?  The one I go to is Summerston...right off Maryhill Road, but by definition probably not the Maryhill Lidl.

Ah!  I didn't know there was another one in the Maryhill area!

Oooh, yes.  Apparently (according to DH), it used to be a Lidl back in the day, then it closed down.  When I first moved in, it was a tire shop, but as of about 3 months ago it's a Lidl again!  It's on Shiskine Drive.  It's a very sweet little Lidl - not crazy and overcrowded like some of their stores can get.

It's strange... several people on this thread have mentioned how they dont like Lidl cos it's always crowded, but i've never been in one that was crowded.  All of the Lidl & Aldi shops I've been in have always been practically empty... like maybe 10-12 customers?   Maybe it's the time of day i shop?

That could be.  But this Shiskine Drive Lidl always seems to be quiet.  I hope they don't take it away again.  Not my Lidl!!

My Lidl flyer today has waffle irons advertised. Waffles, yay! They're heart shaped but I can live with that.

I just need to replicate the eggo recipe :)

I don't have a problem with crowding either! Except once when ours did a big remodeling and then had a Grand Opening. It was MOBBED!!! And they were giving away free sweets and stuff! It was too crowded to do much shopping, but it was fun!  :D

They have waffle irons fairly often! If you want to risk it and wait for a non-heart-shaped one, they'll probably come around again sometime.

Your Lidl is aMAZing. It's the biggest Lidl I've ever been in AND they apparently skimped on the staff training because there was none of that  Lidl disinterest and surliness that every other Lidl requires of its staff.
