X Factor 2008!
« on: August 16, 2008, 09:27:37 PM »
So who's watching? Wasn't that woman who sang the Amy Winehouse song just awesome? I wouldn't be surprised if she won the whole thing.

And what about the judges? I've never paid any attention to her before but Cheryl Cole is incredibly pretty although she looks exactly like a Pippa doll (if anyone remembers those) and appears to be about the same size as one. Either that or Holly Willoughby is a giant.

I couldn't believe this started... did I miss all the preview hype or did they just not run it this time around?

Yes, the Amy Winehouse girl was great. I look forward to seeing more of her.

Racheeeee... don't say that!!!

It started tonight. ITV around 8ish (can't remember the exact time).

It just started today, ITV 7.30 and Xtra Factor is on ITV2 straight after. I'm guessing it will be repeated tomorrow. Although you didn't miss an awful lot tonight.

I didn't see a lot of ads for it but then I don't watch ITV much. I only knew it was going to be on because ITV2 had a show about last years winners & losers on last week.

I think it's repeated during the day today, Anne. I managed to catch it just after midnight last night.

I liked the Amy Winehouse girl I guess, but she sounded a bit too much like an Amy impersonator to me. It'll be interesting to see if she has her own sound at boot camp or if she's just a one-trick pony. They're all gushing over her already which, in my vast experience as an X-Factor viewer, means she doesn't have a shot in hell of winning.

I said I would not watch this year after the crap people from last year!!!  I LIED!!!!!  I watched :-[  But there has been nothing on this summer and I was desperate.  I'm glad I did, I really liked a bunch of the people.  I hope you are wrong about Rachel, she was fantastic and like Simon said there are so few people who get second chances. (But I know what you mean about being a one-trick pony! Amanda Overmyer from AI comes to mind)

That was my comment when watching. It's great that she can do such a good vocal impersonation of Amy Winehouse, I guess, but can she really sing anything else? I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

I keep having the same debate with my boyfriend about Holly willoughby, she looks Hagrid size at times, and other times absolutely normal sized!
