mirra why was your fantasy sooo short lived? what did I miss?

Alb-you are very romantic and Jamie is very lucky....

I did the same thing to my fiance...when he proposed he pretended he was ending our relationship..he didn't want me to guess anything..when I was sitting there so upset I didn't know what to do he then says you know I don't express my feelings well so I explained it all in a letter...I read the letter and it wasn't a break up letter...it was a letter telling me how much he loves me and how he proposes we take the next step and get engaged...I just looked up with tears in my eyes and said, "shut up are you for real" and he said yes...and I just sat there stunned..I said nothing..finally he looked a little pale and said "well" and I said OMG Yes!!!...so I understand Jamie being speechless...and ALB I think that was a very romantic way to propose...well thought out

See what happens when you leave Karma...hehe have you caught up yet? did you pick us out any good tacky sweaters lol

Gotta-you just take notes lady cause someday this is going to happen to you and you will be the most prepared woman there is lol

Thanks, JEP. Yeah, after 34 years (so far...) I should be well prepared, especially after all those movies. I just know NOT to be like Bridget Jones (when she runs after Colin Firth in her undies in the snow? LOL) Some of the stuff she does makes me cringe I can't even watch! LOL

Sweet stories about the proposal, btw, ladies!! :)

Mirra- aw :(

GGTL, I really like your new avatar pic, btw....

I love Bridget Jones.... she does do some crazy stuff, but that's part of the charm.  (The sequel was really crap, though, just a repeat of the first one for the most part.)  I am pretty clumsy so it's nice to watch someone else make a fool of themself for a change... LOL

Anna...you are a girl after my own heart just giving him a ring and telling him it is for sizing lol

Well, I also don't know what my proper UK ring size is, and I have a bunch of cheap rings from silverjewelryclub.com (stuff is free, $5.99 for shipping). One day I was trying to fit a plain silver ring onto one of his fingers to be silly, and he got it past his first knuckle on his pinky. It looked ridiculous, but he couldn't get it off...so I just told him to "keep it in case he needed to know what size ring to buy me" :D

...and it's in his coin section of his wallet.  He did tell me he wasn't sure how he was going to buy me a ring when we're always together, but I told him to figure it out.  I don't want to be there when he buys it because I do want to be surprised when I get it.

if I was a man reading this thread I would think that us women are really devious lol...but we aren't devious we just like to give a helping hand...cause that is what we are good at....

Gotta-I would run outside in my underwear if I knew Colin Firth was waiting out there for me hehehehe...but I agree Bridgette does some embarrassing things

Well, yes if Colin (or Jude Law!) were waiting outside for me, then I would definitely run out. Of course I would make sure I wasn't wearing the granny panties though. ;)

We aren't devious!  There is nothing wrong with dropping a few hints when guys aren't smart enough like you, Alan to figure it out themselves :)

Hahaa I love coming into work and reading these threads:) they make me laugh!

I LOVE Bridget Jones haha she is just so hopeless sometimes:)

And Mirra is right...we're not devious at all, just doing our part to take over the whole of the United Kingdom one american wife at a time  ;)

hhmmmm HUgh Grant? Interesting...

Jep I really like your engagement story it's really sweet! Kind of mean though (the break up part) poor girl you must have been exhausted after experiencing about 56 different emotions that day:)  LOL I was so stupid about it I couldn't stop staring at my left hand...I actually made him postpone a trip to Ireland (we were leaving in the morning and waited till afternoon) because I wanted to wait for my ring to be finshed gettting sized haha

I love this

Jamie you are so cute...postponing a trip to Ireland hehe...I wanted to kill him...He had taken me to Vegas for my birthday and he proposed on my birthday..so when he said we were breaking up I asked why would you bring me to Vegas and break up with me on my birthday I was too stunned for words...once I stopped crying from being upset and then from being happy when he proposed I hit him lol.....
