My former mother-in-law died yesterday.  My ex-husband and I are still really good friends and his mom was very close to my family, spending every holiday with us until he and I split up.  He wanted to tell my mom and sister himself, and I still don't know if he has been able to reach them.  I really want to call my mom, but I know he felt it was important to tell them himself and I don't want to be insensitive when he is clearly going through a rough time.  She was a really great lady and will be deeply missed.

Persephone, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad; my dad also had esophageal cancer; it really sucks to be so far away when something like that is going on

Don't have all the information yet (everything in this extended family comes in drips and drabs), but DH's grandfather has taken a turn for the worst. DH is going over tomorrow for I don't know how long. I have to stay with the animals from two households, but I wish I could go as well...

On top of that, my great aunt died on Saturday. The funeral is today. I spoke to my grandmother (her sister) who is doing well, but they were very close. It's a hard time for both sides of my family right now.

I'm sorry to everyone else who is dealing with loss at the moment as well. *hugs all around*
