Yes, awwww.  But a kitty friend was waiting for you and that's always good to cheer up a person who has had a sucky day!  [smiley=smitten.gif]

I hope you feel better soon, persephone - those members of the public can be so much crap sometimes!  Believe me, I know that from my job, first hand experience.  ;)

Yay for dressed up churches and cute kitties!  We had one in our back garden a week ago that I made friends with  :) - but it hasn't been back since  :(

Thanks ladies!  More UPs than IAs so it's still a good day over all.  I just wish it was more of a gentle okay day rather than wrenching back and forth between good and bad.  Guess you can't have everything!   ;)

IA:  Worst day at my new job so far!  A member of the public almost made me cry!

UP:  It took three months to have a truly awful day compared with my last job where I walked in to my first day which was horrible and it was all a downhill slide from there.

The public can be so cruel :( Im sorry you had a bad day

IA  Saw my doctor today about my blood test.  Besides anemia and low iron my ferritin levels (related to iron storage in the liver) are at 1, and they start worrying when it drops below 10!  :o

IA I have to have another blood test to check fro celiac's disease (it can affect absorption of iron, etc.) and to check my B vitamin and folate levels plus one other thing that could interfere with absorption of iron and B vit's.

UP My doctor is very cool.  He listens and is super nice and takes me very seriously.  He also has been watching Master Chef so we chatted about how good the veggie stuff looks and how far the veggie girl has gotten in the competition.

UP (unrelated to the above)  Hubby got us tickets to see Ally Bain and Phil Cunningham (Scottish fiddler and accordian player) tonight!  He also has told me to keep Easter Monday evening free for a surprise.  I asked, "Do I get dressed up for it?"  He had to think for a bit and said, "It's not posh posh" which probably means I should get a bit dressed up!  :)

Oh Andee, hope you don't have celiac- its not the end of the world (quite a ton of info out there on it) and its much more manageable these days, but its quite tough for anyone, let alone a veggie.   :-\\\\    Hopefully blood tests come back OK.
And yay for cool doctors!!!
Hehehe, I'm so impressed that the veggie has gotten so far on Masterchef.  I thought I wouldn’t like this series of masterchef, starting off all x-factorish, but actually, I think its become so much better.  I’m rooting for the veggie or for the American bloke, I think he’s got the making of a mad food genius!  Plus its neat from this forum’s perspective to root for someone who is like many on this board, in the UK because he’s married a British spouse.

Thanks pb, fingers crossed I don't have celiac's!  Yes, I didn't expect the veggie girl to get as far as she did!  I like the whacky American guy, too!

I have been in tears so many times from members of the public at work, and I'm so sorry you had to deal with it. It really bugs me that people think they can talk to others like they do.

Back to members of the public being sh*tty...

Yesterday, I went to ring a client about his paperwork & his wife answered the phone.  She wasn't named on the client record, so I couldn't say why I was calling or where I was calling from (other than 'it's just a personal business call, we can send something in writing instead') to her - I have to have the client on the phone or it's a breach of the client's confidentiality/data protection.

She then told me in a very posh, snooty & elderly Home Counties accent, 'What a load of old cobblers!'  And hung up the phone on me.

After putting the phone down, I then mimicked what she said to me, to all & sundry sitting around me & we p*ssed ourselves laughing.  [smiley=laugh3.gif]

We decided that she probably has the poor little old guy locked in a little cell in the basement, doesn't let him come to the phone...  [smiley=anxious.gif]

I think this qualifies as an IA/UP incident.  :P

UP: Had a nice quiet evening with my great-aunt.

IA: Felt guilty because it's been ages since I've gone over. Next weekend's pretty open, though, so I plan to go at least once over the 4 days.

Andee, I hope you get some answers soon.

IA: my favorite pair of shoes, my beloved keens, have died. I can push my finger through the sole now.

UP: this just proves how much I have been walking on the past year and a half!

IA: it also shows I really need to change my diet because i should have lost a lot more weight with all my walking.
