Somehow I managed to unknowingly reset the time on my alarm clock while fiddling with it before bed, so my alarm went off at 2:30am instead of 6:30am.  I didn't even realize what time it actually was until about two seconds before I stepped in the shower!

Of course, that meant I got to go back to sleep for another four hours! ;D

Yesterday, on my lunch break, I was walking down the street and I could have sworn I saw my next door neighbor from back in Pittsburgh. Sweet old guy that I've known my whole life... I used to see him around town so much that it felt completely natural for him to be there, and I did a double take. And then realized that was highly unlikely and spent the rest of my lunch break depressed and homesick :(

But my Roommate from college (who became one of my best friends) is coming to visit TODAY! No double take necessary. She lands in a few hours. ;D I've seen someone from home here before, but this is the first person coming just with the intention of seeing ME! How exciting! Should help with homesickness. :)
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

Wow... your first visitor already! You're a star! Hope you have a great time!

My stepson woke up at 6:30, an hour before our alarm was set to get up.
But then I had enough time to put some soup in the slow cooker for our tea tonight, so I am glad I got up early.  :)

Spent the morning being a lazy sod in my bathrobe wasting time online and starting to feel depressed.  So I forced myself to get up and out the door, down the street to the shops - had a lovely chat with the green grocer's son, who was running the shop today, about aubergines, baba ghanoush, traveling, etc (they have some kind of Middle Eastern origins - possibly Iraqi), went to the butcher's for my chicken, and to Ainsleys to pick up a sandwich.  Amazing how just getting out & walking around lifts your mood so much!  :)

Going to walk down and pick up my new glasses this afternoon!  [smiley=smart.gif]  I might then stop in and model them for Andee at the shop where she works.

The "perfume" (and I use the term loosely) that my MIL sprays on herself when she goes out makes me positively gag. But at least it means she's going out!
