If I have to switch to decaf (for health reasons), any recommendations? I really hate the possibility I'll have to go decaf, as I really live for / on coffee..... :-\\\\

I know what you mean  :( Could you try a gradual cut back -- maybe mixing  half caf and half decaf? I found, though, when I've cut back on coffee I ended up drinking more (strong) tea -- unconsciously trying to make up the caffeine there.

I think I am just going to cut back. I can't do decaf, so I'll have to do less.  :-\\\\

You know BD had a good suggestion. Start with 3/4 caf & a bit of decaf and then just adjust until you're doing nothing but decaf. Taylors has a really nice decaf that you might want to try...don't give up on coffee! (unless you absolutely have to  :\\\'()

Ok after going a few days without a proper brew my husband took pity on me and took me to Ripley so I could get a few bags of Java Jampit...but looks like when Taylors says 'Limited Edition' they mean it and the Co-Op didn't have any  :\\\'(

So, after scouring the coffee section and reading all the lables, I found an arabica that is 100% Organic & Fairtrade as well. It's called Percol Americano. I've linked it to mysupermarket so you can see where you can get it and at what price if you're interested. I've not had a cup yet, but it smells wonderful.  :)

Ok a little help here...

I have some wawa coffee (yes 2 bags left) and I want to mix it with some UK coffee so it will taste like hazelnut longer ;-)

Here it all has strengths on the bags ranging from 2-5...What strength would Maxwell House or Wawa be?

I dont want weak coffee but I also don't want something that can stand up on its own?

I'd go with a 3 or a 4 on the Taylor's of Harrogate rating which goes up to 6...particularly I'd use Lazy Sunday (3) or Rich Italian (4).

We were in Cork yesterday and passed a coffee shop. We went in to get some hazelnut syrup and walked out with that and some VERY expensive Hawaiian Kona coffee and some hazelnut coffee. The coffee alone (half pound of each) was 26 euro and we both about had a heart attack when he told us, but it's our own stupid fault for not asking the price ahead of time! We're having the Kona coffee this morning and I'm excited! I love Kona coffee!

WOW! Must be some excellent brew! I'd make sure that I savored every single drop! and to think that I used to spend $14/lb per week for my Indian Sumatra when I lived in Rockridge...

I've never had Kona Coffee before, can you describe the flavour? I like the Java & Arabica because of its bittersweet chocolate flavour is it similar?

Well, it was almost a bit of a debacle. My husband made it and it was fairly weak at first. We're used to our strong Italian coffee, so he used the same amount of coffee as he normally would and it was too weak. An expensive mistake! So, he fixed it and it's stronger. I'm not sure how to explain the flavor, I'm not very good at that. We'll have it again tomorrow and I'll try to think more about the flavor before I eat or put milk in it. All I can taste right now is chocolate and that's because I just had a little biscuit!  :-X
