I was wondering how everyone else's process went? and one more question...I did not include any specific wedding plans, as obviously everything is up in the air without a set date of my arrival...will this cause a delay/refusal? i hope not...we have a baby girl and just want to get married already!

Welcome to Limbo-land Liliana!  I don't know the answer to your question about specific wedding plans, because I did the spousal visa app, but perhaps someone who knows the fiance process will chime in.  Best of luck, and speedy processing time.

In fact, fingers are SOOO crossed that tomorrow is a big day for all of us!

... USPS said it was delivered to NY consulate September 22nd at 11am but I haven't gotten an email yet :( I am hoping to get one very soon. I did pay the extra 300...

Emails are hit & miss, considering that it was just delivered on the 22nd it probably won't be opened until today so an email should be forthcoming soon, but don't stress if you don't get one.

As far as wedding plans you should have shown that you've made at least preliminary arrangements such as picking a date, contacting the Registry Office to enquire what is required for getting married in the UK. It's actually part of the fiance(e) visa requirements and there have been previous refusals for that lack of information, however not knowing what your sponsor letter contained (if it mentions that you'll be marrying in the UK shortly after receiving the visa) it may be OK for you.

Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about it now, but you shouldn't have long of a wait for the ECO's decision.

It sounds like things have slowed down a bit since the summer... most people seem to be getting their visas well within 15 working days, and closer to 10 in fact (even with labor day!)

My application is done, scheduled biometrics for next friday to give my wife time to get bank statements to me... visa will go out friday, received at consulate monday and hopefully opened tuesday; i have a flight booked for october 28 and would hate to cancel it but will do so if need be obviously.

someone reassure me everything is gonna be fine! (just kidding).

Hi Ajanjig,

Purchase priority!!! Majority of people who purchase priority get a decision before 15 business days, the others are left waiting for weeks, months! I am on processing day 40 (8 weeks) non-priority, NY consulate. A few others on this threat have been waiting over 30 business days.  If I could have purchased priority, I would have in a heartbeat!

Nickiboo, how are you doing?  I just have to say I'm in awe of your stamina.  You are an inspiration to me, every time I check this thread - which is about once every 5 minutes :P

believe me i am going to purchase priority; there's no question about that; i already have a ticket booked to go back figuring i'll only be here 3 weeks (originally booked a ten-week trip back to the good ol' US of A just so i 'd have time before I realized the reinstated the priority option.)

sorry you have had to wait so long; i had to apply for a separate visa to go and get married to start off with so i feel your pain.

Thanks for asking Sylviakahlo. I am lucky to be surrounded by a big family to keep me occupied, for the most part. I am ready to get back to my partner and get on with my life. My partner has been unable to visit me due to business constraints so the separation is intense, but nevertheless, I am handling it better than I anticipated.

What about you? How are you doing? Have you heard anything yet?

Hang on in their nickiboo. I still check this thread every day to see if you've got it yet. Don't forget one day at a time.

I feel you on the whole business constraints... I spent 4 months without seeing my wife (when we were engaged) and it was so hard.  you'll get through it!

Thanks for asking  :)  Nope, still hanging.  Today is the last day I can receive news that will put me on my booked plane to Heathrow on Sept 28th, so my tummy is especially in knots.  I can change the ticket, no biggie ... but still.  Makes me feel insane to think of having to pick another arbitrary date to fly, then what if I get my visa immediately and I'm here for another two weeks.  I'm staying at a friends, no car, not really anything to walk to or whatever ... so I'm a bit of a cuckoo caged rat but feel relatively calm at the same time.

I want to go home on Tuesday!!!!  And I know you all know how this feels .... sigh.  We are tough tough cookies.  I love WebyJ's advice, to soak up all things American while we are here.  She makes a great point.

I completely understand what you are going through minus your lack of transportation! I thank God that I have a car, or I would go mental, honestly! I do not know how you do it! In surburbia its almost impossible to get anywhere without a car! I had to change my flight! Its a bummer but there is nothing I could do about it! How many days have you been waiting?
