It is lightly snowing in Tunbridge Wells tonight....so much for no snow in the SouthEast...but maybe it will snow enough that I will not have to go to the South East Eventers League Ball at the Hop Farm on Saturday night.......not that I am anti-social or anything but I just hate dressing up and dances and drunk people etc.........

Exactly!  I was out in my walking boots and this woman almost fell in front of me and I just thought, 'what are you doing you crazy person?'  She was just going to the shops, it's not even like she was going to work.

Hey shes a woman and she needs her fix ;D ( or retail therapy)

Okay, sure, I can see that.  But in high heels?  I'm not a fan of walking around York at the best of times in heels, but with inches of snow on the ground?  I just don't get it.   :P

Snowed on & off here most of the night, and I'd say we have another 2 inches on top of the 3 that we got over the weekend...hopefully DH made it to work alright.

I wouldn't mind all of this if it was any other week, but my parents are visiting and they can't leave the city to go on any of the bus tours they planned to take or even get a train to Edinburgh because they might not get back!  It just keeps coming down!  :-\\\\

It's actually coming down pretty heavily (especially given the weather forecasting snow in amounts <= 5mm!). It looks pretty (but probably won't be fun to get to work in).

Oh great, is it really bad in Edinburgh? My fiance and I are taking a train there to visit his brother for a few days. Hopefully we make it there and back okay.

It's coming down strong in London now (and has been for a few hours) - big, fat snowglobe flakes, but it's mostly just turning to slush on the ground.

I still had to walk to work though, so thank goodness for my enormously thick and long overcoat, woolly hat, and big scarf. Most of my mascara ended up on my cheeks though. :(

It's been really bad in the Eastern part of Scotland, especially Fife and the Lothians and I think they're expecting more of the same.  There are still trains running between Glasgow and Edinburgh, but instead of every 15 minutes they're going every 30, if that.  I think all the trains from Fife were canceled yesterday.  :-\\\\

Last night 2 of our trains just disappeared from the board with no explanation, amongst all the others that were delayed or canceled, so they're doing a lot of last minute cancellations or changes with no notice.  Not fun!

ETA: and the Edinburgh airport was closed this morning, for what it's worth.  I think they're planning to re-open it this afternoon though.

It's been snowing here all morning, just lightly but it does thicken up a bit at times and then gets light again...but it's not stopped and shows no sign of letting up anytime soon.

Last year I pouted as it snowed everywhere but Inverness. We went to York one weekend and as the train was pulling out of the station it started snowing in Inverness and I was sad - but! it snowed down in York, too! and There was much rejoicing! except my BF hadn't brought boots so we went to Blacks and he found a nice comfy pair of really warm boots and I found Snow Princess Boots - the most wonderful pair of snowboots that I have ever seen in my life. They were everything you could want in boots in cold, slippery weather. But my BF pointed out that it doesn't actually snow much where we live and I'd never get to wear them. So I was sad not to buy the Snow Princess Boots but I reluctantly agreed it wasn't the best use of our money.

It snowed for the next 6 weeks straight. Snow, Snow, Snow, Snow Snow. Oodles of snow. And so I looked at my boyfriend and said, "See! I told you so! I think I need snow boots." but alas the moment had passed and the Snow Princess Boots were all sold out and it wasn't to be.

This last weekend, after it snowed and snowed and snowed, I started looking for boots and found a pair that are, if not the world's most perfect pair of Snow Princess Boots, some seriously nifty snow stomping boots, and pointed my boyfriend in their direction. Again he protested, "It doesn't snow enough!" to which I replied, "That's what you said last year!" and he defended himself, "that was an aberration!" and I pointed out the window and said, "!!!" and he said, "...The weather just hasn't been the same since you came here."

And yay, I get to order my snowboots. Except I haven't because that is a seriously ridiculous amount of money to pay for a pair of shoes:

My other half has lived here pretty much his whole life and they used to get snow all the time when he was a kid.  Then they went through a spell where they didn't.  Except now it's back and he says its even worse than when we was a kid.  So, yeah, definitely, you need those really cute snow boots. Besides, they can come in handy in the rain too!
