Last year I pouted as it snowed everywhere but Inverness. We went to York one weekend and as the train was pulling out of the station it started snowing in Inverness and I was sad - but! it snowed down in York, too! and There was much rejoicing!

Last year was yucky in York too.  My car even died because I couldn't get it out of the cul-de-sac which was completely icy for a month or more!

Snowed on and off AGAIN!  I'm so freaking done.  Anyone who wants it, the snow is yours.  You can have it and are welcome to it.   >:(

I'll take it!

We had a dusting this morning, but now it's all melted away.  :(

And yay, I get to order my snowboots. Except I haven't because that is a seriously ridiculous amount of money to pay for a pair of shoes:

Oh but they are niiccee! :D

I am loving the snow...DH works in the north sea and obviously helicopters aren't flying due to ice.  With so many travel delays he was pushed back again and now might leave tomorrow (maybe) so I sing Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ;-)

Right so I have a Yak Trax question...  I got a pair this year, but it says there must be ice for you to wear them, to never wear them inside or on surfaces other than ice (no good on black ice because it's not thick enough).  What about compacted snow surfaces, or snow over ice, etc?

I mean - who has time to be whipping those things on & off their boots (or shoes) while en route somewhere, just because the surface you're walking upon changes?  I'm confused!
Yes, don't wear them inside! I had something of a problem with mine because they would slip off my boot when walking in snow especially.
I ended up getting Neos boots which go over your regular shoes www.overshoe.com/recreational

I got mine (Voyager Stabilicers) from L.L. Bean.

I'm with you, sister!  I got to see it snowing heavily here in Leeds, in the middle of the night last night - but it had all moved on by the time everyone was getting up.

ETA:  I am seriously thinking of putting a Slanket on my Xmas wishlist - and if I get one, that's where you'll find me this winter.  :P

Besides, they can come in handy in the rain too!

Oh, I have rain boots! They even have great traction. They're just not big enough to wear thick socks with   :-\\\\  But, as I've just been reminded, today is Shoes-day! so I'm going to order the boots :D

Well, it's still snowing here in Derby...the sun's blazing outside and it's STILL SNOWING!!! albeit very lightly...but ITS STILL SNOWING!!! For the past 36 hours it's not stopped for more than 30 minutes between 8.30-9 last night  :-\\\\

I don't know how I feel about that...DH had to be at work at 6.30 this morning so he got up at 4.45 and left at 5.10 to drive 12 miles, he made it there at 6.30. 12 miles....everyone be careful out there if you have to go out!
