DH oil rig was put down to essential personnel only yesterday - flew everyone off but 30 people.  A fender (a gate thing that protects to canisters of gas and oil) fell off, this is the 2nd one to fall off out of the 5 on there. The problem is it fell on the gas/oil storage so that is a BIG problem. The rig was shut down.
My problem is it hasnt even hit the news at all! They say the sky looked black with helicopters all coming to get over 100 people off ASAP.  We are in contact with the ones on the rig and they are bored and dont think they are in any danger but obviously no work is going on. Seems to be they are shifting the guys around on Monday like having some people come back up there to go to a different rig to work - blah.

I am happy DH is home but still how crappy for the 30 on there and I am hoping they get this fixed as the thought of dented gas tanks scare me.

Scary stuff chillywilly!  I hope everyone is okay and the trouble is resolved soon.

Mine is I finally got a letter about my foot, and I was put on an 8 MONTH waiting list to be seen.  Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about scary surgeries any time soon.

Stupid mobile company.  No, it is NOT okay that in the process of changing my tarriff you've managed to drop my data package.  And NO it is not okay that you're proposing to take three days to fix it.  Do you not understand how much I rely on my BlackBerry - for EVERYTHING??  *scream*
Not MrsRichUK anymore!  :-)

argh, that's frightening! :/ Hope everything works out for the better, and at least your DH is home for a bit.

My IA, I went to the apple store to buy a ridiculous 17" Macbook Pro but they didn't have the config I wanted and have also convinced me to wait until the Keynote at the end of the month, which is all good advice, but I wanted something shiny...so finally gave in and upgraded our 360 and bought Kinect. Oh oh Oh Evacuate the dance floor!

Shell owns it...They know they are sending the crew to 2 different rigs but no idea how long and if this will mess up the crew change. DH is hoping to be made redundant so he can apply to the old company that had the contract.

He is home till 8th Feb so we have plenty of time to figure it out (hopefully)

Blech.

My other half is in a really really bad mood and he won't tell me why... he's scuppered off to his house to do some cleaning and exercise. I hope it puts him in a better mood.  I hate when he gets all sullen and mopey and then I annoy the hell of him asking why he's in a bad mood. Usually I've done something to piss him off and he won't tell me why.   :-\\\\ :-\\\\

Well that's not helpful, is it?

Men.

My IA: the ex (there's that MAN theme again) plus still not being able to get the greasy lotion out of the boys' hair and idiot (the ex) asking me if I'd washed it at all.

'Gee, wash it? Now why didn't I think of that?' ::)

Exactly!

C, I'm sure you've tried all this already-
but some thoughts are:
Dishsoap
Running cornstarch through to try and collect some of the grease and attempting to comb it through then washing loads
Rubbing lots and lots and lots of olive oil through
Shaving the boys heads.  :P

Basically because the E45 cream is essentially wax, it will probably last a good long while.  But I am sure it will eventually come out.  They just may look like grease monkeys for a while.  Little boys!!!!  :P   Good luck!

My flatmate is aggravating me...no surprise there.

My leftover curry, which I was quite looking forward to, didn't taste good at all. :(

Thanks L. Right now we're using Dawn. We're operating under the theory that if it's good enough for the oil-soaked birds of the Gulf, it's good enough for the boys. :P The problem is, they won't tolerate me washing their hair more than one time per bath. So yeah, it's looking like a long, slow process.

They are absolute monkeys. ;D

:D Good luck--I'm sure it will come out eventually after many bath-times!

I've written a mere 1600 words of the 3000 due by noon tomorrow.  I have nothing else to say.   :P

Time for some good old fashioned BSing.   ;)
