You can only do what you can do.  :-\\\\

Reminder that if you're on it for a long time, it does take a while to be weaned back off it.

So it's an inconvenient annoyance, but that's okay!

My old jeans are officially way too big.  So my next size down jeans have trendy "rips" in the knees and distressing, which technically are not allowed at work.

So I'm wearing my jeans which are the NEXT size down.  And it's awesome that they go on.  BUT DAMN - are they tight on the waist.  Like tourniquet tight!  LOL  My legs may start to turn blue.  LOL.

But no rips... and I'm in jeans... so.   :)

I bought a couple of pairs of jeans in the US right before I moved over (the day my decision email arrived, I was out shopping!... January 9, 2013).  I bought ones that fit me sooooo perfectly.  Loved them.  Then after I got here, I actually, for the first time in my life, started to put on weight.  I still wear those jeans that literally were a perfect fit.  But now I have to do that squatting, jumping around thing and suck in to put them on and do them up.  I would not call them a perfect fit.  But they still look great on me!  I just wish they were one or two (or three!) sizes bigger so I could still breathe while wearing them.

Not trying to hijack this convo....

but what are the size differences between the US and UK? I am in a size 8(US) pants right now, but....I'm a little worried about going to the store and not fitting in anything correctly!!! I bought a dress in the UK in 2015, (I was then in a size 12 pants) and I had to buy a size 14 dress, so it seems like the sizes are bigger. But then, I read that they are smaller! My wardrobe has shrunk since attempting to pack, so I'll need to buy a few more things when I get there!

Oh, goodness you're right....
Funny story: I was with my husband and his siblings (who are all younger than us) and I said something offhand about my pants being looser due to the cold weather and they ALL snickered...!

The numbers are larger here.  So your 8 in the US will be a larger number here. Sizes are different depending on where you shop.
When I fist came back I had no idea what size I was going to be here so I did a twirl for the lady in M&S and she told me right away what she thought would fit me!  :)

So I did all that work to get down to a size 6-8 and I'll be wearing an 8-10 again  :-[ :-[ :-[

You know, everyone recommends stocking up on jeans before you leave anyway, so you will still be that 6-8 if you do that!  :)
