Uggh- I got an email yesterday that an urgent letter I was waiting for was returned because of "addressee unknown"  - She had my correct address, so goodness knows why it was returned  ::)

I've let my brother know that his present that he sent DD hasn't shown up. Which really makes me feel like crap because I know that whatever it was it wasn't something silly & cheap and it probably cost a bit to send as well. I just hope he's able to get something back from it as I don't hink it will ever show up here.

This is more about hating Royal Mail...

went to our Royal Mail office about 2:30pm today:
5 employees sitting at their tills=
3 drinking cups of tea
1 chatting to her friend about a place she went out to dinner the week before
1 helping a customer

I was 2nd in a line of 5 people and it took me about 10 minutes to be seen.
The sad thing is this is probably the quickest & best service I had from them.

I've had half of my packages "misplaced" when they got to our local mail office. One package slip told me I had to pick up my package at a warehouse 30 minutes away- and when I arrived there they told me the postman had marked the slip wrong and it was really at the royal mail office right near my flat. I've had to wait in line for 25min while the people at the package place had lunch together (I could hear them chatting and when I jumped up and leaned over the counter to get their attention see them). They are almost always rude and unhelpful. I dread going there.

Turns out my brother ordered DD's present off Amazon.co.uk so they're tracking it. At least if it is lost then he can get a refund.  :-\\\\

I'm really fed-up with getting cards via Royal Mail that have obviously been opened in some sorting office, and then they're delivered to me in a plastic sleeve saying it was damaged.  No, some dishonest employee hoped to find cash or a gift card in the birthday greeting my MIL sent to me and thought they would help themselves to whatever they found.   >:(  It's happened several times.  I even wrote No cash or gift card enclosed! on a card I sent recently.

Or they may send a new one out.  This happened to me recently - I said it was lost, they looked for it and sent a new one, without charging me.

Well my brother must have chewed out Amazon big time, because a man from DHL just arrived & brought DD's present. Turns out that he ordered it and it was shipped from the US on 16 December. According to the shipping lable (which was changed twice!) that it's been sitting in Lichfield since 22 December! Had I known it was there we would have driven the 30ish miles down there to get it!

We haven't even gotten a plastic sleeve the past 2 times.  Just a poorly taped up envelope that was clearly opened.  It's really frustrating and discouraging.

I've given up on the package my step-mom sent.  It was sent on December 2nd...and nothing.  It's been almost seven weeks.  I hope whoever has it is enjoying my American food goodies and whatever else was sent.  Darn them!

I sent an xmas package to my dad in Colorado on 10 December and a birthday card on 5 Jan and neither of them have arrived.  I didn't send the package guaranteed or trackable (my fault I know), but is there any recourse with RM?  This is really inexcusable.

We just got a card on the 15th that was sent via a custom card website postmarked 16th December.  The post is just crazy lately!

Meanwhile I'm hoping the 8x10 photo of Jean I sent Mom & Dad gets there eventually!

A UKY friend sent me a Christmas card which, apparely, *did* make it to the US but was returned all the way back to her in Cornwall as 'Undeliverable'. Yet the address is 100% correct.

And locally, my new bank card has not arrived so I had to order another one.

:P
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
