Me too!  I also like the advert where they're catching the apples in the orchard.  I want that job :).

Ohhhhh that reminds me! Kopparbergs! Never heard of pear cider til I went over and it is to die for!

Absolutely!!   :)

Omg sticky toffee pudding is awesome! Still gotta get used to pudding meaning dessert and not "pudding". Lol.

Thats a joke right? You have been to the UK before haven't you??

Not joking at all. I've been to the UK three times already, the last two times for 3 months each and moving permanently in 2 weeks. We order our groceries online and have them delivered. But I will order one!

I modified a recipe I'd heard about when I went to a Barenaked Ladies concert.  Ed was saying onstage he'd been to Cold Stone earlier that day and enjoyed sweet cream with kitkats in.  I added the white choc chips.

You're not making this any easier on me as I'm trying to curb my sweets til the Friday before we leave. Lol. I may have to get two pints now!

For me, 6Music. Its the reason why I bought a DAB radio for my kitchen.
Id would be so lost without it. Huey Morgan (my little slice of NY radio) and Jarvis Cocker on Sundays. Steve Lamacq & Marc Riley Mon - Fri nights helping me cook dinner. Craig Charles Soul & Funk show on saturday nights to keep me dancing...

Its the only thing close that comes to the station I used to listen to back home while growing up (its now off the air thanks to ClearChannel!) with its mix of new and old and random eclectic tracks.. Rarely theres a bad song on (at least imo)

Yeah, 6 Music is good.  I listen to it sometimes online or off the satellite.  I tend to get my music listening from other sources online though.

I love Radio 4 (and if you have a digital source/listen to the radio online Radio 7) because it is a bit like having a tiny listen to a by-gone era.  I was an NPR listener back home (and for those missing NPR, you can definitely get most stations online, although I find the time zone thing and the accents a bit jarring now), but Radio 4 is like the real deal.  Dramas, comedy, readings, panel shows.  I love it.  We went to a taping of a show last year, and I can say that it was one of the top 10 coolest things I've done so far in the UK.  For those interested, you can get free tickets to radio and telly tapings, although I got the impression that there are some hardcore radio geeks who snatch up a lot of the tickets when they become available.  A lot of them seemed to know each other.

Another resource for newcomers:  All the catch up things online (4OD, BBC iPlayer, Channel 5 & ITV catch up).  Some game consoles also have them as a part of their operating system now, so it's fairly easy to watch them on your regular telly even if it is not hooked to your computer.

That's good to know! I love on demand stuff. Still trying to figure out how to watch Jersey Shore (lol) and get full episodes of Survivor and Celebrity Apprentice on NBC and ABC.com. So far I've learned you have to get an anonymous ip address but sometimes that doesn't always work. I will miss my Netflix too.  [smiley=end.gif]

Lovefilm is sort of like Netflix.  It's not always as quick because with Netflix, the post office lets Netflix know that the disc is being processed so they send the next one.  Lovefilm doesn't have that agreement, but everything takes pretty much a day to be sent here, so you are looking at two days for most things.  You can watch films online/on your PS3 as well.

I think Blockbuster has a disc mail order thingy as well.

British cheeeeeese!  ;D

This this this!!!  :D  Plus, more affordable continental European cheeses.  There are so many supermarkets with excellent cheese selections, especially Waitrose.  There was only one branch of a supermarket near me in NJ that had a decent selection, I think because the buyer there was probably an enthusiast!  :)

Also, the M&S Vanilla and Strawberry yoghurt smoothies.  They are kind of really overpriced but I love them so much, for a ready-made smoothie anyway.

How to watch the Daily Show and Colbert Report Outside the US
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/modify-headers/

If you use firefox, you can use Modify Headers add on to watch US shows online without getting the 'you are restricted' message. I use it so I can watch the Daily Show (not the World Edition...)

It DOESNT work with CBS but does with NBC, Fox & ABC.
You can find work around to use MH with Hulu and a few other sites.

Modify Headers has been a life saver for me...

Unfortunately MH wont work with the BBC in the US :(
