Squash (no added sugar), so many good cheeses, lots of cheaper good wine, the meat pies (steak and ale...OMG), pasties, really well made thick chips, Twiglets and several flavours of crisps.

With you all the way on the wine! I am a true Port lover, and where I lived the cheapest Port was $20 and there were maybe 4 different selections. I get to London and there 20 Ports as cheap as £5. I was in heaven!
There are two kinds of people.  People who say what they want, and people who DO what they want. Which one will you be?

For me, I absolutely love love love everything blackcurrant and all of the different ciders here.  Sometimes, when I feel like acting like being a bit of a chav, I order pints of Strongbow and Ribena.  DEEElicious.

Eurostar, Paul Merton, French Press Coffee maker, cava. And of course all you wonderful people on UK Yankee.

Is that Strongbow...mixed with Ribena?

Yep - it's known as 'cider and black' (or 'Diesel') :) - see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackcurrant#Culinary_uses.

Also popular (especially with students) is Snakebite and Black (beer and cider, plus blackcurrant cordial), but many pubs won't serve Snakebite or Snakebite and Black because they're pretty potent :P.

Thats a joke right? You have been to the UK before haven't you??

I've never had Vimto in the UK. I used to drink it alllllllllll the time when I lived in Connecticut though... at least once a week.  It is available in the States. You just have to know where to look.

Thornton's and Cadbury chocolates. BBC 1&2. Malteasers and the Malteaser bunnies. Eccles cakes and Chorley cakes-pretty much anything at Gregg's or Chatwin's. The Cheshire countryside. Prawn cocktail crisps. The Nhs(coming from a former SoCali girl who only used Planned Parenthood for necessary "female" checkups, only). Irn Bru. Yorkshire puddings. Rain-but only during the night, when I'm at home. Dr Who and all of my other favourite shows. Dh's potato wedges. I love Snakebites! Will have to try the Diesel sometime as well! ;D

Has anybody mentioned public transportation yet? Even the readily available taxis are great.
