Counting the days until this wedding happens, Sweetpeach! If there's rain thrown into the mix(isn't there always?!) this wedding should be really, REALLY interesting!

Yes. Rain could be an issue, especially since they are depending on volunteers to provide gazebos and umbrellas.

I just re-read the other posts. These people are in their 40s?! Gee whiz! DH and I had a registry wedding in Chester with his parents and two of my aunts. And a lunch at our hotel's restaurant(which my aunts paid for. It's not monumental, but, they also did pay for their own flights, from Chicago to Manchester, and hotel room in Chester). After which DH's parents went home on the train, and my aunts, DH and I had a small wander around Chester. I bought my wedding dress in San Diego at a second hand shop for $40. I totally want to re-work it for our anniversary in like, 5 or 10 years, though. I digress. Can't believe all of these hoops that yourselves and their other friends are expected to jump through for these pair. I seriously can't wait for the updates now!

Also, I can't wait for updates on the wedding Racheee's attending. Saw the inspiration for it. Don't think it'll work out quite the same way in the UK. But, maybe that's just me.

To be honest, I am really hoping that I can get out of it somehow. I might go down with my husband and kids, take them all to the actual church ceremony, and then go to the reception on my own. I have no idea what I am going to wear, no idea at all, but my husband point blank refuses to rent a tux, that like £70 Fuggetaboutit. I would rather send a large gift (NOT CASH) but who knows how this is going to pan out...

This girl who is getting married is 38, she is way too old to be the bridezilla...

I need advice regarding shoes.

I have flats, but they don't grip well.

Considering that I will be on a campsite, what shoes can I wear that are grippy and not slippery, but look OK with a dress?

I can't wear wellies or any type of long boot. My legs are too short and they come up too high (not in a sexy way).

I can wear lower ankle boots but won't that be too warm for August?

You can buy ankle boot type wellies (or mid-calf wellies).  I don't think they'll be too warm if it's raining & muddy & miserable - rather you'd probably be glad you had them on!  And aren't you always cold anyway?  :)

If it's warm & dry, then regular flats or whatever would surely be okay if you don't need them for gripping/traction.

I was joking about the gold Hunters. Yes, I'd think it would be far too warm in August ... unless there's torrential rain and you need them.

Is traction that important? You're not going to be climbing mountains! It's just a campsite. I go to lots of festivals, fetes, etc. that are in fields and I've never given a thought to traction. Just some pretty flat sandals would be fine, I'm sure.

Where is it going to be? Did I miss that? What part of the country/what campsite/area? I think I missed that.

I bet the bride and groom would totally LOVE that!!!!

"Who invited that little immigrant girl with the dark hair????!!!!!"
"I certainly didn't!"
"Did she bring anything?! Is she useful at all?"
"Shall we phone 999?"
LOL!!!! If only I had the disposable income, I would totally crash it! :D
