I'm still holding out hope of even another dusting. We've had one dusting so far, and that is it.  ::) I might have to live vicariously through your on and off snow today.  ;D

We'll mostly be in a northwesterly airflow for the next few days so there may be some wintry showers around... however, the precipitation will only fall as snow/sleet over the higher ground in the northwest and up in Scotland - further south though, it's probably just gonna be rain, I'm afraid.

Yep, my forecast shows rain for the next five days.  :\\\'(  It is the same here as it was in Indiana, hit or miss. I have been keeping up with a friend's reports the past couple years of how much snow she gets. She and her husband own a horse ranch in Colorado, and she gets several huge (feet) snows a year. Hmm... maybe I should move there.  ;D

Maybe :P.

Unfortunately, you're not likely to see much snow here in England in general - most of our weather systems are westerlies, coming from the Atlantic, which is why it's usually mild and damp, and why we get so much rain and cloud, but not much snow (also the fact that we're a small island surrounded by water affects the weather too). For snow, we need arctic or polar maritime air from the north and northwest, which only really happens when the jet stream is in a certain position, forcing the pressure pattern to change and to allow cold air to come down from the north.

My first winter here, two years ago, we had two heavy dustings. Last year we had a heavy dusting and one heavy snow that melted as it landed. This year we had one decent dusting. I've learned to not expect much.

It is interesting how many variables it takes just to get a bit of snow.  ;D

Today, I kept hearing rumors of snow being forecast for this weekend.  Well I just checked BBC Weather and with even the lows well above freezing for the next 4 days it seems highly unlikely.  ??? :(

First I've heard of it - and I'm a weather forecaster :P.

There's a Met Office snow warning out for Scotland for today and tomorrow, but not for the weekend. Looking at the charts on the Met Office website, it looks like a warm front is coming through Friday night/Saturday morning (which means mild and cloudy with rain and drizzle), and then the cold front Saturday night giving sunshine and maybe the odd shower on Sunday.

Snowing in Central NJ right now. :( I want back the spring-like weather we had last week, not winter right now, no matter how mild a winter it has been.

The snow last night didn't amount to much more than a dusting with ice.

Yeah, it started to snow just as my bus got me home last night, but then it seemed to turn more to ice.  Snow/ice - meh.  :P

We had about three minutes of barely noticeable flurries about 15 minutes ago.  ::) Guess I will build my snowman next winter.

We got 2 cm here in Lincoln last night - most of the snow was in the Eastern and Central parts of the UK, but it was either freezing rain or just rain to the north and west.

I was on the night shift last night so I had to go outside once an hour with a ruler and measure the snow depth on the ground :P.

Positively balmy up here, 9ºC - that's like summer weather here! Definitely no snow.

(In comparison to Poland which was -20ºC!)
