Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban ~ JK Rowling

I'm working my way through the books. I've read the first two in two days.

When you get closer to the end, you're going to want to make them last longer!! I know it's so tempting (and easy) to zip through them, but you'll be sorry when you're finished!  :)

Atonement by Ian McEwan.

I forgot how astonishingly beautiful his concise prose is - the mark of a truly great writer, the ability to make you feel emotion w/o even having to make a point of it in the novel's language.

A real treat.

Yeah, those first two are extremely quick reads.

I'm trying not to read them too quickly. Dh says I read fast. lol I'm enjoying them immensely, though. :) Even though the film versions were brilliant, it's amazing how much I've notice that was still left out, even little things. lol I want to get to HP and the Half-Blood Prince since my friend that's visiting me next week is dying to talk about it with someone who's read it. I've forbade him to tell me anything until I do. lol

I've just purchased 'The Tenko Club' by Elizabeth Noble. Has anyone read this? I've only read a few pages (it was an impulse by on a Virgin Train. It was this or a criminal thriller which I hate) but wanted to know if it was any good.

I just started English Passengers by Matthew Kneale. I bought it years ago but never got around to reading it. So far I really love it!

Well, I've finished all 6 Harry Potter books, which all were absolutely brilliant. I can't wait for the seventh book. I'm definitely trekking up to Edinburgh when JKR has a book signing.

Now, I'm reading Patricia Cornwell's Predator.

Recently started Superstud: Or How I Became a 24-Year-Old Virgin by Paul Feig (the creator of Freaks and Geeks).

It's brutally honest, and yet still makes me giggle.

Recently finished The Vision of Emma Blau by Ursula Hegi who also wrote Stones From the River.  I couldn't put Vision down. Very highly recommended.

I am just getting around to The Templar Revelation, which I picked up along with Holy Blood, Holy Grail from a yard sale. The sellers were devout Christains and had bought the books to see what all the fuss was about, and were loudly complaining about them and their content to someone who was agreeing with them. I bought them both for 50 cents.  ;D

Last night I just started "Arthur & George" by Julian Barnes. I'm only about 50 pages in, but I'm hooked. All I want to do today is read read read!

I'm a late bloomer...reading Cloud Atlas at the moment.

I bought it last summer - but couldn't get into it - and now I can't put it down!

Funny how a good book makes you WANT the bus ride to work last longer....haha

Before diving into Cloud Atlas I read all the Narnia books.

FanTAStic book! And i know exactly what you mean about the bus trip!

I'm in the middle of Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle.  Brilliant, as Vonnegut always is. :)

I've just started Seven Types of Ambiguity by Elliot Perlman. So far I really like it and I am glad because I haven't been finding books that I can really "sink my teeth into" lately.

I had to look this one up because I hadn't heard of it. Sounds really good! I'll put it on my list!
