Well, we received a reply from the mp regarding my daughter. She's been refused as they state that I have not provided irrefutable evidence that I have sole responsibility and custody. I don't know what to do with that. There is nothing in TN that I have ever had to do regarding that because we were never married and so I automatically have full everything. This is not unexpected but very upsetting nonetheless because now I have to find a way to have a court document stating that I have full custody of my daughter etc. More time more expense. I don't know. Just overall disappointed. Don't know when I will get to be in the UK permanently now.

Someone was seeking information on British Expat forum regarding a child's application and it was advised that official written consent to take the child out of the country should be obtained from the non-custodial parent... pretty much permission needs to be granted, even though this person has full court issued custody of the child.

I would post the link but not sure if its ok to do so.

@larrabee @j4v3d @NeishNk

Thank you very VERY much. Funny how those these things work out! So if mail gets picked up at the end of the UK business day I shouldn't expect anything before Monday?

Out of curiosity, is the father listed on the birth certificate?

I could just about cry with relief! I'd all but convinced myself that I wasn't going to see a decision til January 😅

Ultimately I have no idea whether contacting the MP did anything, cause she hasn't heard anything back yet. At the very least it made me feel a little better

Start a new thread and we'll ask you lots of questions and ascertain what to include in a new application.

Did you get the written letter finally?
