Right? My stylist back in the states just totally got my hair. I miss her. It's a bit expensive to fly back for a haircut... Haha. My hair grows really quick too especially during summer!
I'm glad too. He's such a sweetheart. He deserves a break.
Nope, no plans. Still a bit skint from the last visa and we've got the two dogs so we're just having a quiet one at home. Going out for dinner next week though!
yes expensive indeed! my hairdresser was my neighbour and was the mom of my best friend growing up (they literally lived 2 doors down) so I had always gone to her and she got me/my style. She also did my eyebrow waxing perfecting. People seem to prefer threading over here so it's so hard to find somebody who will just wax my brows and wax them well! It's even worse going from a person I could get it all done in one go with to needing multiple people. I used to try to fit in a trip each year when I got home, but I just can't be bothered anymore so I've been running around all week trying to fit it all in (husband just bleached my hair last night so it's very blonde-ish).
I totally get you with the being skint after the visa thing .They just keep going up and up in price and it totally wipes your funds out for a bit!
I did Mass Comm: public relations and advertising which covered a large chunk of journalism, some broadcast, advertising and of course PR.

a large chunk of my electives I spent taking PR/event planning/etc, type classes. I really WANT to go into PR/event planning/marketing now but it is definitely hard (I've found) with little to no real world, "on the job" experience. I'm not just looking at going into Project Coordination/Management and hoping to just get into more creative areas with it.
I feel like many of us ended up in similar fields - I'm kinda between what jimbocz and kfdancer do, data and analytics/business intelligence for me with a love of SQL (but I have no degree)

I've found, from my personal experience, that if you have a degree it helps...but if you have real world experience (or, with entry level, a good interview where you show you're passionate), that's what counts more than the piece of paper! Which I found to be drastically different to the work culture in the US..
I was also shamed to get my hair cut after reading this topic. I last had my hair cut in a pixie style back in December 2016. I did it because I decided to stop coloring my hair and accept that I no longer have black hair but white. I finally got it long enough to get a cute hairstyle and went to get it done today.
I'm going to have to get another pixie cut because the hairstylist has completely butchered my hair. I'm shocked at just how awful it looks. It's going to get corrected by the owner of the salon tomorrow but I'm so unhappy. I know it's only hair and it will grow back but I've waited so many months to end up with the same hairstyle.
Grrr.

Ugh it's the worst when you don't feel happy with the cut you've received

Did you tell them right away that you were unhappy? Always curious how people go about that because I panic and just tell them it's fine even if I hate it!
RE the white hair, that's in style now! Pastels and greys are all the rage so if you have grey or white hair, just go with it! People will totally think it's fashionable now
Hope your cut to fix it goes well!
w00t!
Communication is a very under-appreciated skill set especially where I am in the USA. My local news station can't even do bullet points correctly. It's painful...
It's great except that now it's hard to not proofread when I read articles or blogs or even, sometimes, Facebook posts. I have to actively try to resist lol. I have found errors in job postings before and I've had to fight emailing them to tell them they might want to edit their listing LOL
