Good luck to everyone waiting on the package to get back or the email that its headed your way. I think the weeks spent waiting for the email that the package was headed back were some of the most stressful of our lives.

Hello all,

I've been watching for a time. My husband and I had two previous refusals (for being in-country the first time and for finances the second—which we passed the first time according to the refusal letter). We used the forum to help us get organized for a third attempt. After that, I dropped out because I had to put some space between me and this seemingly insurmountable mountain of getting a spouse visa.

I've re-signed on with a new handle for a new year. :)

Here are our details:

Online application: 10 Dec 2017
Biometrics: 14 Dec 2017
Docs Received in Sheffield: 22 Dec 2017

Here's the good part:

Decision e-mail: 26 Jan 2018
Visa APPROVED: 29 Jan 2018!!!

I'm still shaking and can't believe I finally get to go home to my husband and dog.

Thank you to everyone out there for the support, the insights (even when I was only lurking), and the help putting it all together (especially ksand24, larrabee, and KFDancer). You all are the best!

Fantastic news. I know the heartbreak of getting a refusal, so I'm chuffed you have finally got some good news!

Perseverence really pays off.

WAAAHOOOO!!!!!!  We knew you could do it!  I still hate that they didn't "check" your financials with your expensive in country application!  But that's neither here nor there now.  Enjoy life with your husband and doggie.  :)

Thank you, all! This has been quite a journey. I know each and every one of you, whether you wait for days or months, it's terribly painful and frustrating. But really, let the super smart people here help you, and you'll get through.

See you in the UK. Flying out Wednesday!!

Hello everyone!.

Great to see larrabee, kfdancer and ksand still on the case. You guys are amazing. I've been off the radar for a while so I'm a bit out of touch with the timeline.
My brother is British, living in Paris with his Canadian girlfriend.
He is expecting to get married soon.

Two questions:
1) What is your best estimate of the approximate timeline for priority spouse visa applications from Paris.
2) Does he need to be married for a period before the application goes in?

all the best,
Matt

Hi Matt!  :)

They can apply as soon as they have their marriage certificate, presuming they meet all the other requirements.

Not sure about processing times but it’s always worth doing priority to speed things up.

She has to be living legally in France, as opposed to visiting, to apply from there.

Hi everyone,

First of all, congrats to everyone who has recently received approvals!! I just want to add my timeline here as well. I got the confirmation that all of my documents were received in Sheffield on 29 Dec. Then on 23 Jan I received the not been straightforward email. I’ve been away from my husband for 4 months now and having my life on hold is extremely depressing, as most of you know. Even if it’s just sharing my timeline    I still feel a sense of relief. I just hope the decision email doesn’t take too long to come condisdering they sent the non straightforward email just less then 4 weeks after I submitted my application.

Hi Everyone,

I used to be super active on this forum and I used to meticulously maintain logs, which was useful when the processing time blew out summer 2017.  I see there aren't really any logs any more (understandable if processing is happening quickly).
How long roughly are US priority applications taking at the moment?

best,

Matt

Hey, I replied on the non-priority thread too :).

Recent processing times for priority:

Applications submitted in November/December = about 4-6 weeks
Applications submitted in early-mid January = about 2 weeks

Two applications were submitted using the new Gold Settlement Premium service (effective from November 15th), which cost $1,600... you give biometrics at a Premium Centre then submit your application and documents in person... documents are scanned in and handed back to you, and you can keep your passport. It includes shipping and priority processing.

Gold Settlement Premium Service = about 2 months!

Hi Matt,

We had a recent priority application from France.  Submitted early November and decided last week, so about 2.5 months.  It's not as quick as the USA unfortunately.
