Hello everyone,
A little update... my husband got the "Decision made" email this morning!

I'm the person who was (incorrectly) advised by immigration consultants that the application would take 2-3 weeks. In the end, it seems like it has taken 28 Business Days to get to this point...which, all things considered, doesn't seem at all bad.

I'm assuming 'decision made' usually means approved...?! If so, will let you all know once it has been dispatched and is in hand etc.

I reluctantly left the US last week and am setting up our home in Scotland. I had anticipated at least another 2 weeks on my own, but I'm now hopeful that my husband and our 2 year old will be here sooner...
Married American husband: April 1, 2013
Moving from Maryland to Scotland
Application Type: Settlement/Spouse Priority
Biometrics: July 3, 2018
Package arrived in Sheffield / Docs processing email: July 10, 2018
Decision made email: August 17th, 2018
Documents returned:

Although every decision I've seen on forums lately has been an approval, I'm becoming increasingly anxious as I see more applications processed within timeframes that for us have been and gone two weeks ago. I've heard it said that a rejection tends to take longer than an approval.

Today is bd 37 for us and I just called the call centre and heard that our application is still at "awaiting decision" status -- and I can see from monitoring forums like this that the decision made email can arrive days after the actual decision.

The longest time to decision made I've seen lately for comparable cases is 42 bd.

How worried should I be?
Country: USA (Seattle)
Visa: Settlement - Spouse (Wife)
Priority: Yes
Visa office: Sheffield, UK

Biometrics (USCIS Seattle): 15 Jun 18
Documents at Sheffield (ParcelForce): 20 June 2018
Email "prepared for consideration by ECO": 27 Jun 18
Email "did not include airway bill": 27 Jun 18
Call to escalate after 30bd: twice, no reply

Email "decision made": 3 Sep
Documents returned (to UK): 5 Sep
Passport received (UPS): 5 Sep

(48th bd from "application being prep'd for ECO" email.)

Visa valid from: 10 Sep
BRP pickup from: 17 Sep

You should not be worried AT ALL.  A UK visa is a tick box visa.  Meet the requirements, demonstrate that through your evidence and you tick the boxes and get the visa.  :)

We definitely meet the requirements and our evidence is extensive and comprehensive, but it's at the ECO's discretion and I've seen rejections on this forum and others for daft reasons.

What encourages me somewhat is that lately it appears Sheffield is asking for clarification or missing evidence before rejecting. But I fear that commendable policy could now slip as they hit peak business.
