Pretty sure it's not true. They usually only close on the 25th and 26th December and 1st January.

I've never heard of them closing completely over Christmas.
I went to their website under contact us and then filled in the form and that's when it gave me a list of upcoming dates the office is closed. Wonder where that person heard that 🤔

Historically, they haven't closed.

However, it will likely be a skeleton staff.  Most companies encourage employees to hold back 3 days of holiday to take between Christmas and New Years.  While there will be people in the office, they are unlikely to make too much progress.

where did you hear that? I just looked at the UKVI website and it says closed Dec 24-26 and January 1. That would really suck for the rest of us waiting if it's longer.
That makes more sense ... I figured they would close those dates... but still its hard to wait  ;)

I woke up to a decision made email! I'm fairly certain it is a yes. We've only had one refusal that I've seen under the new system and she said she received an email detailing her refusal. This would make sense as it seems they are trying to move to a mostly digital format with US applications, so I am cautiously optimistic!
Congrats I'm sure it's a yes.

When was her first refusal? Just to clarify, they gave the refusal in her decision e-mail and stated why she got refused?

Her refusal was on November 29. They had emailed her asking for bank statements she had already provided and she sent the statements again 2 days later. She got the refusal in an email the day after she emailed them new copies and they explained why in that email, as well. It sounds like they claimed they couldn't see the paychecks going into the account, but she said they did show that, so I am expecting she will be able to get an administrative review.

thanks for the clarification! hmmm thats interesting, especially since they only took a day to reject her visa after the new statements were sent. probably the only time they've ever been quick  ;D

She actually just posted in the Facebook group this morning that the refusal was overturned! She emailed the HO and got her MP involved and it's only been two working days so they realized quick they messed up. haha
