Also taking into consideration it'll likely be a skeleton crew between Christmas and New Years! I have a countdown on my phone for exactly 30 business days from when my package shows delivered in NY (including the upcoming holidays). If I haven't received anything by then that's when I'll send a follow-up email. No need to waste money on a generic response when you haven't given it enough time, am I right
That’s my take on it.

I have no idea, my coworker talked me off the contacting them ledge. This week is our half way mark. I'm still patiently waiting. How about you. Did your docs arrive in the 19th as well?

On the Facebook forum it's about 32wds minimum from Biometrics. I'm thinking to take my docs to work and scan them under each category, just in case I get one of those emails. I will be ready to send.
I'm kinda waiting before I spend that money too. My sister wants us to start packing up my house though. I just dont know if I should.

That’s a good idea - to scan your docs so they’re ready to send. I think I’ll do that as well. At least I’ll feel a bit productive! I think the most difficult part of the wait is sheer boredom. I am working full time, but with my husband and kids gone I have all this free time. It was nice for the first few weeks but now it’s excruciatingly boring. With the holidays everyone is getting busy so even get togethers with friends are dwindling and I’m missing my family more and more. That makes the wait really difficult.

Question for the experts- So I know you get vague information when emailing for an inquiry but I needed some peace of mine. Not to read into this but have you seen a response like this before?

“Dear XXXX,

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.
With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision.

Please note, the priority service does not guarantee that you will receive a decision within certain number of days. It only means that your application would be put in front of the queue. We aim to complete priority applications as soon as possible however it may get delayed due to several factors.
We escalated your case to the relevant department . You should be contacted regarding your case within 15 working days from the date of escalation.

Your patience is highly appreciated.

Regards,
Reema
UK Visas and Immigration”

That's a standard copy-and-paste response. All it means is that your application has been received by UKVI and is now waiting in line to be processed, along with all the other applications.

The people you contacted are not located anywhere near New York or Sheffield and have no access to your application - they are just a random call centre, who type your application number into a computer and read off what it says on the screen.

I just read about that one today on FB. So sad. All of our documents are already scanned for when we are ready to apply in March. We are hoping to do the self-upload (presuming it is working right by then). If not, we are seriously considering paying the premium just so that we are at the office when they scan them in lol. We have a few months till we are able to apply, so hopefully the kinks are worked out by then.
Even when life seems at it's most dark and despairing.. there is within the power to make change.

They don't scan them while you wait.  You just hand them over and then they scan them in the following days.

Our MP heard from Sheffield today that my documents/passports have indeed been lost. They're trying to track them down but Sheffield never received them. It has been 50 working days since they were signed for in New York.

I have all my documents ready to go but if they've lost my passports, well, that's a huge problem.

I know a lot of people have said it's useless to go through an MP but he did get us answers so I have to give him props!

Sorry to hear that :(.

However, if you went through the new system (sending everything to New York) nothing will have been physically mailed to Sheffield, since everything is now scanned in New York and transmitted to Sheffield electronically.

Which means that if your documents and passports are anywhere they will be in New York. It may just be that they ended up in the wrong office within the New York building.

Great news that your MP has been proactive.  It's not something we've seen recently.  ;)

As ksand said, Sheffield won't have your passports.  NYC will.  So try to not panic just yet.  :)

I saw in that screenshot of the email wanting more documents that it asks for declaration of source of cash savings and evidence of source. What exactly do they want? If the money has been accumulated over a long period of time from wages/gifts what are you supposed to show?
