Thank you! Can’t even express how thrilled I am to be heading back to Scotland.

I’ll be up in Elgin for the next few months before we move down to Glasgow. So I’ll be in your neck of the woods!
I absolutely love it here. I've been here a year and a half now. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

I agree 100%. I remember wanting to live there about 4 hours into my first ever visit to Scotland...before I was even dating my husband. And I only loved it more after living in Glasgow for my Master’s!

So needless to say, I’m thrilled! And I definitely lucked out that my favorite person in the world also happens to be from my favorite country.  :)

Merry Christmas y’all!!
My docs arrived today and I’m approved!!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone that helped me out!!

For those that are still waiting, I hope it’s not long now!!

Also, just for reference:
-I did try to scan and upload everything myself to the website. The only things I didn’t scan were: the pas sport photos, my passport copy, and the priority payment receipt.
-Everything I didn’t personally scan, I had an electronic copy of and uploaded that, including husband’s bank statements and paystubs
-I wasn’t asked for additional information, but I did send a letter for confirmation of receipt of materials.
28 WD’s, not counting Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Congrats...that's great...

How wonderful. congrats! How did you find doing the self upload? We are hoping to do this as well, since we already have all items saved as PDF on our computers. :)

Can someone point me to the verbiage where it states that your passport has to be submitted or it will be declined for the settlement Visa.

Also, isnt the only way to keep your passport is to pay for the premium service for $1900 and not the $78 fee in the vfs global site?.

Here you go, and it's for all visa types, not just settlement visas.. because they have to stick the visa in your passport... so no passport = no visa:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/usa-apply-for-a-uk-visa/apply-for-a-uk-visa-in-the-usa#mail-your-application

From that link:
Quote
All applications must be accompanied by a valid passport with at least one page blank on both sides. If the application is mailed without a passport the application will be refused.

And yes, the only way to keep your passport is to pay for the $1900 service if you are applying in the US.

Thank you. I just had to make a point on facebook. This lady giving advise about paying $78 to keep passport and showing the service on vfs site. I told them that doesnt apply for a Settlement Visa, I then spent another 5 mins back and forth. Now I sent my screenshot nobody has anything to say.

Yeah, I find the $78 service confusing for US applications... Because you can only use that service if you apply at a Premium Centre... and you can only apply at a Premium Centre if you purchase one of the premium services... namely Bronze, Silver or Gold for non-settlement visas, or the $1900 Premium settlement service for settlement visas (and that one already includes the option to keep your passport).

And in fact, when you select the USA Application Support Centre (for mailing  to New York) it specifically says that the $78 service is not available:
