Yes, it is the documents received email. It is worded that way because it is the same email for all countries, but each country has a different way of submitting the documents.

Wow - thanks.  I got that email 12 business days after my documentation arrived in NY.  Hopefully this gives some reassurance to anyone worried they haven't received the email within a few days.

There’s no rhyme or reason to it - some people never get an email, or it can take anywhere from 1 day to several weeks to receive that email, depending on how busy they are and how long it takes them to log the applications in the system.

A few summers ago there was a massive backlog and for non-priority applications, it was taking 2 months just to receive the email and then another 3 months for the application to be processed after that!

Rest assured though, as long as you know the documents were delivered, your visa WILL be processed. I’ve been on the forum 12.5 years and have seen thousands of people on this forum apply, and every single application has been processed, whether the email was received or not.

Just a sanity check here for anyone who might have information. I applied for a visa for my son (9 1/2 years old) and I in March and received the "we got your application, we're processing it" email on March 26th. I've lost count of days but this is over 12 calendar weeks even though I paid for priority. Not to discourage anyone else, but I had a massive amount of paperwork compared to other applications so I'm assuming that's one of the reasons for the delay.

Anyway, when I applied for both of us I paid our application fees and my IHS fee but not his because as I understand it this is a glitch in their process and they only ask for payment once the application is processed. This morning I received an email asking for his IHS payment. My question is, after 12 weeks they wouldn't ask for payment in order to proceed only to deny our applications right? And they're most likely close to finishing their review of our applications at this point if they are asking for the money?

I know getting any updates out of the UK government is impossible, but this seems to be a good indication in our favor that we're almost there and almost successful?

He has the visa! They wouldn't ask for payment if they refused because the IHS is refundable if the visa is not granted. Congratulations!  :D

I'm going to assume that since our applications were tied together with one set of documentation (my finances) that this also means mine would be approved as well since they wouldn't approve his and not mine.

Now I wait for the "we've made a decision" email....

"Decision made" email 17/6/19, visa in hand today! 12+ calendar weeks from acceptance email to visa in hand (I had an unusually large amount of paperwork to process). What a wait it's been, but I'll land in Edinburgh July 1 and be back with my wife!!!

Thanks to all the amazing people on this forum, specifically a HUGE shout out to kfdancer, ksand24, and larrabee! You do what the UK government should be doing, and all out of the goodness of your hearts.

Huge sigh of relief today  :)

Priority Spouse Online Application: Sometime early May
Biometrics appointment : June 5 2019
Documents sent to NY : June 5 2019
Documents delivered to NY: June 7 2019

Haven't recieved any e-mails or anything at all so it's just a very long anxious wait while the thought of my application being misplaced keeps me up at night.
I wish they at least had the decency to say "don't worry your visa is under review." I'm already an anxious mess as it is!

You and I have practically the same timeline. My documents (priority) were delivered on June 7 and surprise, no email for me either. So at least know you're not alone!
