There are people going past holding umbrellas up.  The air has cooled and it is lovely and fresh.

This isn't a deluge, but it is lovely.

Any sucking noises you can hear is my garden tying to get every drop as it falls.

I'm in the North West.

While I was getting ready and then out shopping, some clouds came in.  It possibly could rain, but it just as easily could not rain.  I'm happy either way because the temperature is perfect.

Still raining!

Hubby is away in the States for a month (his mother needs help after an op) (boy do I miss him!) and I thought I would have a little limoncello and sit in the conservatory and enjoy the rain.  But the phone rang and it was a bloke we met a few weeks ago inviting me to join him and his husband at the Deli round the corner tonight.  Now, the question is, can I have that sneeky limoncello now, and not spoil it for a glass of wine tonight?

Rain brings good things! Yes I am spoilt!

Does it feel weird having your husband away for the month back in the US?? Like you've gone back in time?

When I read on this forum how people are apart waiting for their visas - I know how lucky we were.  We were living together in another country (not the US and not the UK) and submitted our visa application in that country.  Then I headed for the UK a couple of weeks before him and had a lot to get sorted before he arrived.

And I am used to him working shifts and working away.  At one point he was based in a different place and would come home for a couple of days a week. My life in that country was restricted and you just have to get on with things. So I really didn't think it would be that big a deal when he went this time.  He has been gone since the 9th July and it feels like AGES!  And he isn't back until August 12th!

But lots to do while he is away.  Keeping busy (and having a sneaky limoncello, and meeting up with friends in the local deli) is the way to go.

And they say the temperatures will soar again next week, so I am enjoying the rain.

I haven't seen rain in Southampton since I got here June 15! As a Seattle girl I'm looking forward to a bit of rainto freshen up the air and water the garden but I'll try hard not to wish too hard and spoil it for the sun lovers :)

Yeah...I'll believe it when I see it. They've said it too many times.
