Have you even been to a local, county or state fair?

This is what I say every time someone brings up Scottish fried foods. Just look up Iowa State Fair and you will see the delicacies that pop up there. I've never been, but I have friends that live in Iowa and post their State Fair findings.
80 items on a stick, alone.

(Don't look if you're feeling homesick for American food, lol)

Us Americans are way beyond the Scottish and their love of fried foods. Have you even been to a local, county or state fair?

Scotland has deep fried Mars bars and pizza.

Don't really have many state fairs in MA :) So not really been to any if I'm honest! We had one nearby that was a very mild fair but I never like a proper fair like you'd get in the mid west.

But really, I'm completely just yanking your chain

Lol
But the food is the only reason to go to the fair. I love deep fried Reeses personally and deep fried cheesecake plus philly cheesesteak egg rolls. Oh, and fried cheese, fried bacon...

Is it in western MA? Not been to the Big E. Had only the Topsfield Fair nearby that I knew about.

I lived in Buffalo and thanks to the immigrant community had tons of food options even though it was a pretty small city. Over here it's not nearly as well received it seems. :(

Do you think that things are slowly changing at least? I feel like more and more people are opening up and wanting to broaden their horizons... especially as it pertains to food. Our palates are becoming more daring and diversified.  :)

The Scottish seem to fry EVERYTHING haha  ;D ;D ;D

Oh crumbs.. :( Sorry! Try seeing if there are any American restaurants nearby enough to you and just look at their breakfast/brunch menu...if no American ones, just start looking at what's around you and what they'll offer as you may wind up surprised. If nothing else, it'll give you something to do while you wait to come over! :D

In Penrith, it's very limited in regards to breakfast... Definitely no pancakes or anything even resembling an American breakfast. There's a place in neighboring Carlisle that has American-style pancakes with streaky bacon. It's not bad but not great either. Not to mention, the first time I went there and ordered pancakes they doused my cakes in maple syrup. Yeah, no... please don't put my syrup on for me. I can handle that just fine. LOL!

Ha ha!! I felt completely violated!! I wanted to tell them "If you're gonna do American, then you put my syrup in a little ramekin on the side. And give me some butter while you're at it!"
