The dish I get from Roscoe's is called the Carol C special... It's a fried chicken breast (bone-in/skin on) and a waffle. I love sweet and savoury. My favorite! Butter and maple syrup on the waffle. And I drown my chicken in hot sauce. Tee hee!

The sweet chili sauce sounds like it would be nice for the chicken. But I don't like when restaurants use chicken tenders vs. having the whole chicken breast. The whole breast with the skin and all is so much more flavorful and juicy!

Brewdog give you hot sauce on the side with your chicken and waffles and it's pretty good for what I've been able to get here in the UK for Chicken and Waffles! There's also Stax  Diner in London (http://feedyoursoul.co.uk/stax/) might have other locations too that do a good chicken and waffle!

If anybody is in/near London, there's also The Breakfast Club (https://www.thebreakfastclubcafes.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/2018-Red-Breakfast-Menu-Final.pdf) that I hear is meant to be good but I've not had it myself.
My, how time flies....

As in Carol Channing? 😁

A Londoner from work has been trying to convince us that a bone in chicken breast is called a side breast. I have a feeling that's only with "kids" in London. Hahaha

That's hilarious! I'll be sure not to order it that way!!

Not sure who Carol C is... I honestly never thought about it but imagine if it is Carol Channing! I should see if they have the history on it next time I go there. They do have an Obama special that they added a few years back so you never know. He he he!

Or Carol O. Connor?

Ha ha! As in Archie Bunker? That would be interesting!  I'm thinking it's probably named after someone's auntie or something.

Ok, I need to make sure we visit Brewdog as soon as I'm back there. I must know!

I would think there would be plenty of options in London considering how many American tourists visit and the diversity of the residents there as well.

Ha! That's awesome! And I'm also glad to know I"m not alone regarding breakfast. It has always been my favorite meal in America.  :)

Brewdog have only started doing brunch more recently so it might be hit or miss in some places but I was definitely happy with the chicken and waffles I got @ the Reading location :D I don't want to over-hype it though as it will likely not be as amazing as what you're used to have LEGIT chicken and waffles!

There are lots of places in London I'm sure, but a lot of them will be catering to tourists only so not necessarily quality. I can tell you, however, Stax is definitely quality and it can be quite hard to get in the place as it's a tinyyyy space that is fairly busy but we really enjoyed the food!

I've kind of gotten used to food there not being quite as amazing as its American counterpart. Burgers. I want my burger cooked medium. Not well done. And I want it to be juicy which requires a bit of fat. Never have I had a drier burger until I visited the UK. But it's helped me to learn to judge things on a UK standard and not against an American standard of food. That way I'm never too disappointed.  :)

With burgers, it all depends on where you go! Not everywhere does well-done burgers :) There is a 5 guys here but it's so much more expensive than US 5 guys, but it does fulfil my grease quotas LOL. Gourmet Burger Kitchen I've recently changed my mind on and actually really enjoy their burgers as well as 7 Bone and Byron Burgers (which seem to not be doing so well as I've seen 2 or 3 now locally that've been closed down!). Pub burgers I've come to expect won't be very good (and can be pleasantly surprised sometimes), but there are places that do do really tasty burgers even for an American standard :) Just my 2p though!

Honestly, I just think it's where I'm gonna be living. Because I had a great burger when I was in London. Went to Patty & Bun and it was amazing! But up in Cumbria, they're still going off the law that states a burger has to be cooked all the way through to well done temperature because of risk of illness. I've asked for them to cook my burger less but they won't do it. Ugh. I don't understand why they just don't put the disclaimer on their menu about eating raw or undercooked meat. Let me take my chances!

And also the problem is that I don't think a lot of cooks understand what "well-done" actually means because I have had burgers come out burnt like little hockey pucks. Uhhhh, no... Not acceptable. So I've pretty much gotten to the point where, like breakfast, I just cook burgers at home so that I can actually enjoy it.

I think Cumbria is just slow... but that's kind of why I like it in one sense too. LOL!

I remember going to Canada with my parents once and ordering a hamburger and "hockey puck" was the only way I could describe it as well! It was AWFUL!

I love visiting Cumbria. There's a pizzeria in windermere that does really good gluten free food that my friend took me to, and of course I don't know the name. But I would say as a whole, the food isn't the best part of life up there ;)

I'm still missing US supermarkets. I'm having a pity party today because a toothache means I can't eat much and couldn't go shopping from dizziness, and I'm not doing well trusting my husband to get the things I want and need.

Same issue of not picking out the things I want. My husband bought moldy tomatoes last time, he just doesn't *look* at what he's picking up.
