I followed the updates from friends there, the last storm 8 years ago at my house we had 3" and at the end of the road about a mile away it was 5+ feet. Lake effect snow is wild and I kinda miss it.
For the big windows always do a double-row of tape especially around the corners. I'd sometimes add some packing tape for good measure. I never had issues with moisture, but between that and heavy curtains it made a huge difference in warmth. There's also putty you can put in any gaps before the plastic. It's way too wet here for that and I am freezing, it's like our rental has no insulation at all. It is boiling in summer and frigid in the winter. So grateful for electric blankets and cats!

So I've only done the one window in my bedroom, and it definitely makes a difference. I have a similarly sized window in the kitchen I'm thinking of doing as it's by the Aerogrow and hydroponic setup. There's also a much larger one in the living room, plus a sliding door. I can do either the kitchen or the window in the living room, not enough for both, so I'll probably go for the kitchen although I'll have to take it down in the spring since I open that window quite often to get a breeze through the place. For the slider, I have a large quilt that was made with tabs along one side to run a curtain rod through that I'm thinking of putting up. Not sure yet, will watch the bills and see how it's costing.
Question - we used the double-sided tape that came in the kit. We are renters. At some point it'll have to come down and we'll have to get the tape back off the window surround. Did you have luck getting it removed easily? Or is this going to be one of those "get a bottle of turpentine and a scraper" events?
